If there is one new show that we need more episodes of right now, it’s Doctor Odyssey. This offers a great mixture of steamy and wild! There is some bad news, though.
There isn’t a new episode of Doctor Odyssey on tonight, Thursday, Jan. 23. For most of you, that won’t be a surprise. We knew that the show was going into a lengthy winter break back in November. That doesn’t mean it’s an easy break, but there is some good news when it comes to the other side of it!
What is on instead of Doctor Odyssey tonight?
There’s a rerun, though, right? After all, a lot of networks will opt for reruns while they wait for their shows to return from winter break. That’s not the case on ABC, though.
Instead of reruns, ABC has opted for a different winter lineup. The 9 p.m. ET/PT timeslot will start with a rerun of the new comedy Shifting Gears. After that, we’ll get the next new episode of Only Murders in the Building. Tonight will wrap up the second season, telling us exactly who killed Bunny and why.
When will Doctor Odyssey return with new episodes?
ABC made it clear that this break would be a long one. Doctor Odyssey will be back on Thursday, March 6. Yes, we have to wait until close to the end of winter for the series to come back.
This is a good thing, though. With a longer break now, it means there are fewer weeks to fill for a May finale. And that’s what the networks want. So, there are fewer breaks on the other side of the show’s return. With more consistency, a show stands a better chance of success.
We’ve seen ABC decide to do this with a few shows. Will Trent and The Rookie were both held for the midseason. With 18 episodes to the season, there’s a chance that only one one-week break will be needed for a May finale. We could see the same for Doctor Odyssey when it returns. It feels good not to have a break once the show is back.
When the series does return, we’re hoping to see that Avery has made a decision about her pregnancy. She seemed ready to keep the baby, but she’s not all that sure. The biggest issue is not knowing whether the father of the baby is Max or Tristan.
