The season 7 premiere of FBI was also the last for actress Katherine Renee Kane’s Tiffany Wallace. Fans of the show have been waiting to find out how she would be written off and if it would have anything to do with the shooting of Hakim Saran in the season six finale.

As fans may recall, Tiffany struggled with guilt after Saran killed FBI Agent Trevor Hobbs in the middle of an investigation when season six premiered. During that season, she was determined to find Hakim and bring him to justice. In the season finale, the agents did find him, and Tiffany made a fateful decision to shoot him, telling the others she saw a weapon.

Since he did have a gun on him, it was ruled a good shooting. However, as we would learn in the season seven premiere, it didn’t quite help Tiffany feel better. In the season seven premiere, the team investigated a truck bombing that killed several individuals, along with the target, a man named Tariqu Amini.

What led to Tiffany Wallace leaving the FBI in the season 7 premiere?

Amini only ever had one photo of him posted online, but other than that he was a ghost. The photo was posted by his daughter, who caught her dad and his best friend, Cyrus, in the background. Through investigating, the team learned that Tariq, Cyrus, and Tariqu’s wife, Nadia, had been given an opportunity to stay in the U.S. if they completed a mission.

That mission involved the assassination of a high ranking general, but when the three arrived to the U.S., they were left to fend for themselves. In the middle of trying to find the men responsible for Tariqu’s death, we also got hints of what was going on with Tiffany.

It was apparently her last day at work, and she told Scola it wouldn’t be fair to her partner to keep working in the field when she didn’t want to be there. Scola actually became injured when one of their suspects came up behind him on an escalator and stabbed him in the leg.

Tiffany made a tourniquet, joking that she was glad she decided not to stay home after all. In the end, she told Maggie that her decision to go to Georgia where her sister worked was best for her. She needed a place to heal since she realized she didn’t get the closure she needed after Hakim was gone.

Even though we didn’t get to see the aftermath of what happened with Hakim and how Tiffany got to her decision, we’re hopeful that taking time away from the FBI will allow her to take care of herself. Perhaps one day we will see her again or even get an update through Maggie or Scola.

FBI airs Tuesdays on CBS at 8/9c. Catch up on the episode the next day on Paramount+.
