FBI has undergone various changes in season 6, from cast exits to storylines that continue to shape the trajectory of the remaining characters’ arcs, including Agent Tiffany Wallace. Throughout the season, she has been dealing with guilt over a fellow agent’s death and soon, we will see the storyline play out once again.

In the season 6 premiere episode, the team had been looking into who was behind a terrorist attack aboard a bus. While on a stakeout to find their suspect, who was a Somalian terrorist, Agent Trevor Hobbs, portrayed by Roshawn Franklin, was killed.

Hobbs was first introduced to FBI in the season 2 premiere and has been seen in many episodes over the seasons. In the season 6 premiere, he was tasked with going undercover, something he had not done in a while. Tiffany was partnered up with him to surveil a Somalian restaurant that their suspect was often seen visiting.

During the stakeout, Hobbs went to follow Hakim discreetly. Unfortunately, Hakim murdered him before escaping and the team has yet to catch him.

Tiffany was wracked with guilt over his death, especially after their suspect, Hakim, got away despite their best efforts. She has been having a difficult time this season with the events that occurred, but it looks like she will be able to find justice for her fallen colleague.

According to TVLine, in a response to a question about her journey for season 6, executive producer Rick Eid shared that Tiffany “will eventually get a chance to confront the man responsible.”

Based on the synopsis for the season 6 finale, which is now titled “Ring of Fire,” this is very much likely what will happen. So far this season, Tiffany’s ability to work has been called into question. In fact, Isobel had asked her partner, Stuart Scola, in one episode if he thought she was still capable of being on the field. This was after she had thought she had seen Hakim back in the United States.

They were on a case involving a murder that led to information that someone was looking for a bomb. It was tied back to the terrorist cell involved in Hobbs’ murder. Despite being told to go after the person, Amida, who wanted the bomb, she was adamant about finding out Hakim’s whereabouts. Her actions were what got her into trouble with Isobel and almost landed her in hot water.

In that episode, before Scola could answer about his thoughts on Tiffany being in the field, it was confirmed that Tiffany was right. Hakim had returned for unknown reasons. With the ties to Hakim continuing to unravel, likely, we won’t have to wait too long for justice.

Even though Tiffany has been battling her demons this season, she did also confirm she is talking to someone. But catching Hobbs’ killer is the one thing that she would prefer to do. It looks like this confrontation she will have is shaping up to finish off the season.

The synopsis for the season finale states, “The Somalian terrorist group behind the death of Agent Hobbs resurfaces, sending the team on a chase to take them down for good.”

The episode is slated to air on Tuesday, May 21 at 8/9c on CBS. FBI has been renewed for a seventh season so no matter what happens in the season 6 finale we can anticipate another installment come the fall!
