FBI season 8, episode 17 saw the team investigate the murder of a psychiatrist named Saima Khan in a case that was full of twists and turns. Plus, OA had a new chance at romance after meeting an agent helping with the investigation.
Saima Khan was leaving her job when she was abducted and later found murdered, having been tortured and shot. At first, it was believed that a patient she had previously been helping was involved, but he had an alibi. They learned she had dinner recently with an unknown individual, who could be their killer.

They also found out two other Muslim women had gone missing, but no bodies had been found. They all had been connected to a new Imam named Aziz Khalil, who recently arrived in the city. At first, he looked like a viable suspect since he had mentioned the women while doing prayers.
In order to find out if he was their suspect, OA went undercover with an agent named Zara Ushruf, and sparks were flying right away. She went to a Halaqa that the Imam was running while OA looked for evidence.
At first, evidence did seem to show he was involved since they found a bloody shirt and two passports from two of the missing women. However, not all was what it seemed. The Imam was actually helping the women escape their abusive husbands.
One of the women, Aaliyah, was different though in that she did not have a husband, but the Imam was helping to hide her. Aaliyah refused their help, though, and it was obvious she was running from someone.
Despite the Imam being upset with OA, he did tell them that Aaliyah was a house cleaner who witnessed a murder of a Gaming Commissioner named Andrew Davis. Powerful people were after her.
The team discovered he had been in the process of awarding a multi-billion-dollar casino license to one of many competitors, but died before he could make his final decision. Whoever was behind the murder was after Aaliyah and killed Saima Khan to try to find her.
Aaliyah posted on her Facebook page about wanting to be left alone, which got the attention of an anonymous user who sent her a phone number. It went to a burner phone, but that connection was also found at different locations, including Davis’s house and Aaliyah’s.
It had been purchased a week prior at a bodega and surveillance gave them the name Nathaniel Boja, who was connected to a Filipino gang and was a suspect in two other homicides.
Following Aaliyah, the team noticed she had a bag of SD cards on her, and the cameras in Davis’s home had missing SD cards. She was going to give them to Nathaniel so he would leave her alone. However, when the team arrived, a shootout occurred between them and Nathaniel’s men.
OA was able to go after Nathaniel before Maggie followed and shot Nathaniel. Due to Aaliyah withholding evidence, they ended up having to arrest her. The surveillance from Andrew’s murder revealed a Malaysian company, Tengku, was behind the murder in order to secure the casino license. Jubal vowed to make sure all of the relevant groups such as Interpol knew to be on their radar.
The episode ended with OA and Zara on a dinner date, where they talked shop before enjoying some good food and vowing to go talk to the Imam to make amends. This was a very cute scene and the chemistry was off the charts, so we hope OA has his second chance at romance.
This was a good episode of FBI and showed how there could be many twists when it came to an investigation. It also gave us an update into how OA was doing, not only when it came to romance, but his own journey when it came to his faith.
