FBI season 8, episode 19 had the team working on a case involving a pedophile ring while Isobel began working under a new ADIC. What happened with the case and where did things end up for Isobel?
Everything started when two agents tasked with handling FBI evidence were held hostage and forced to open one of the lockers to find one piece of evidence they needed to right some sort of wrong. One of the agents was killed before help could arrive.

Once the stolen evidence was discovered, they noticed one case file was unaccounted for. It was a laptop belonging to Joe Maliska, an investment advisor going on trial for running a Ponzi scheme. He was on house arrest, and at first, it looked like he orchestrated the robbery.
However, Scola and Eva discovered his dead body amid what looked like a bunch of pills. There was surveillance footage of the murder, and one of the men removed his helmet. He was identified as a man named Jared Huxley, who was known for advocating for ways to help people before they committed suicide.
It turned out Jared had two brothers, Sam and Drew, who was the youngest. He killed himself, and when his family found his journal, they discovered he had been trafficked and assaulted. He named Joe as one of the men involved, and now Jared and Sam were looking for the others who hurt their brother.
They were able to find the rest of the names on Maliska’s laptop, and when they went to find one of the men, they discovered Jared beating him to death. He stopped briefly just as Sam came to defend him. After shooting their second target, Jared and Sam ran off. The agents caught up to Sam but lost track of Jared.
Sam eventually told him that they were going after a pedophile ring, and all of the proof of their activities was on Maliska’s laptop, which they got confirmation of before killing him. With one of the suspects of the ring in custody, Isobel convinced him to call the number that they would use in order to pay for young boys.
They tracked down the young teenager who had been groomed to be part of the ring. The team learned that he had been part of a youth program, which was supposedly providing mentorship to underprivileged boys. They were convinced that these wealthy men could help their futures. Eventually, the teen revealed the leader of the ring was Ricky Benson, who was seen as a pillar of the community. After surveillance showed him attempting to leave the city by bus, the team was able to apprehend him.
This is the sort of case that could mean people wanted this taken care of quietly, which Isobel had to deal with concerning ADIC Lawrence Green. While at first, he told her ominously earlier in the episode he expected loyalty, he showed in the end that something—they would agree on some things, this case in particular being one of them. Even though he already had higher-ups urging him to keep things quiet regarding the ring, he agreed with Isobel that the men involved needed to be punished.
It will be interesting to see how Isobel’s working relationship with Green will move forward in upcoming episodes, especially since we’re only a few episodes away from the season 8 finale.
FBI airs Mondays on CBS at 9/8c. New episodes are available the next day on Paramount+.
