FBI is just a month away from the season 8 finale, and CBS has already released the synopsis for the episode, including its other programming. Even though there are still a handful of episodes left to go, what can we glean from the synopsis for the finale?

The FBI season 8 finale is set to air on May 18, so we have time before it airs. Titled “Defector,” the episode will find the team having to work with a former foe after a bioweapon is stolen from a defector. They will have to work with this person in order to make sure a lethal outbreak does not occur in the city.

There are no hints as to who this could be, although we do know in a previous episode that Eva had a longtime nemesis who got away during an undercover mission. Plus, there’s also a possibility that Oslo could return, which would make sense since a pathogen is involved, and that would be his MO in how he committed his murders.

Season 8 has focused a lot on the cases at hand while also connecting everyone’s personal storylines. Agent Stuart Scola recently got married to his longtime love, Agent Nina Chase, and he also got a new partner, Eva Ramos. As for Eva, she has slowly begun to really become part of the team, and we’re looking forward to knowing more about her as season 8 continues airing.

Agent OA Zidan had been in a relationship with a woman named Gemma, but things ended after she met someone else. OA had been struggling to let her into his world at work, but that was still a heartbreak for him and wasn’t an excuse for how she handled things.

In a recent episode, he met an agent named Zara Ushruf during a case, and they later went on a date. With how much chemistry they had, it would be great to see OA be happy for the rest of the season and beyond with someone who understands the impact of their jobs and also shares the same community as him.

Agent Maggie Bell recently lost her sister, and the impact of her death will still be felt as Maggie continues to grieve. In fact, in the April 20 episode of FBI, Maggie’s friend Peter Olsen will be brought in to help on a case, and he had been helping Maggie at the time of her sister’s death. We could see more about how she is doing outside of work in the wake of what has happened.

FBI airs Mondays on CBS at 9/8c.
