FBI season 9, episode 3 followed OA as he was on another case with Anna Vorpe and her Special Forces team. He was doing his best not only to keep his cover, but also try to get close to Anna to find a weakness.

OA planted a bug using a rock that he put into Anna’s hand. This allowed the FBI to find a new lead to who is protecting Anna. Due to finding out that Anna had cleaned something up for her handler in a town called Owego, they brought Scola and Eva in to find out how Anna was connected.

A case involving a young woman's death leads to a coverup

Angus Cameron was a name that came up in connection with a young woman named Tiara Wylie, who worked at a country club with him. Her death was ruled a suicide, but her family never believed it. Angus eventually admits to Eva and Scola that the night Tiara died, he saw that there was a man in a car waiting for her. She was there asking him for cocaine. The odd thing was that his statement was not included in the police report.

The medical examiner looks over the autopsy report, and he tells Maggie that Tiara’s injuries were consistent with a car accident. The only car that burned that night belonged to a young man named Ross Carver, whose dad is Ernest Carver, the Undersecretary for the DoD.

ADIC Green comes in after he is questioned about a listening device being obtained without a proper investigation occurring. He wasn’t too thrilled about being left out of the loop; however, he is willing to help Isobel and reminds her that even if they do things differently, they have the same endgame.

They decide to use Ross to get to his dad. Since Ernest had likely asked Anna for help protecting his son, this is the best way to find out the connection for good. Even though they determine for sure that Ernest was part of the coverup, things go sideways after they question Ross.

Ernest had told his son to “smell the dandelions," and when Isaiah and Maggie found him, he had overdosed. They find security footage showing Anna and a member of her team outside the building where he overdosed.

They question Ernest, but he was genuinely surprised his son had died. Maggie has a feeling she knows what actually happened. She discovered six years ago that Ernest had been found with cocaine in London. He knew Tiara from the Key Club she was part of with his son.

Ernest had an inappropriate relationship with Tiara and was the one with her the night she died. He used his son as a scapegoat so he wouldn’t be caught. However, he expected Anna to get his son out of the city, not to kill him. At the same time they figure all of this out, Anna’s team questions OA after they discover the listening device he placed in a rock he gave Anna.

While the FBI went to bring in Anna’s team, OA fought back against the main enforcer, Devon, after Devon tried to get OA to kill him. After he put the handcuffs on Anna himself, OA was officially brought back onboard the FBI and given his badge back.

We have to admit, as much as we missed OA being back on the team, we hope we will still see Isaiah helping the agents out. He was a great asset to the team once they let him in and genuinely just wanted to be a good partner to Maggie.

Now that OA is officially back, we’re excited to see if there will be any lingering effects from his time with Anna’s team. Despite the goading from Devon, he kept the core value of who he was as a person and an agent, never wanting to cross a line he refused to cross. We're looking forward to seeing OA back solving cases with the FBI and seeing how the rest of the season plays out for him.

FBI airs Mondays on CBS at 8/7c.
