Fire Country is roaring on CBS, but is it going to get a fourth season? CBS just gave us the answer!

Fire Country was one of CBS’s instant hits when it debuted in 2022. The drama about a camp of convicts helping California firefighters to commute their sentences has captivated audiences and has been a success on Friday nights. That easily earned it a second-season renewal early in its first year.

Season 2, like all CBS shows, was affected by the 2023 Hollywood strikes. It didn't premiere until February 2024 and was cut down to just 10 episodes. That was still successful, with Season 3 ongoing.

It's great news about Fire Country season 4

Now, as part of a huge wave of renewal news, CBS has confirmed that Fire Country will come back for Season 4! It’s expected to hit in fall 2025, but it's definitely in the 2025-2026, likely still on Friday nights.

Per a press release, CBS boasted that Fire Country delivers 10.6 million multiplatform viewers, with streaming alone up +43% year over year. That’s a big boost for the series.

The show has been a hit not just for the thrilling fires and set pieces but also for the character work. Fans love to watch the drama of the on-off relationship between main characters Bode and Gabriela and Bode’s growth as a firefighter. There's also the side characters of Bode's parents Sharon and Billy and fireman Manny now, ironically, part of the convict camp. Season 3 is notable as Bode has been paroled and is now becoming a full fireman.

So Season 4 is great news and Fire Country will only grow!

How big will Fire Country get?

Fire Country won’t be alone for the 2025-2026 season. This spring is expected to see the debut of a spin-off, Sheriff Country. It will star Morena Baccarin as Mickey Fox, Sharon’s stepsister and a deputy for their local town of Edgewater County. Having been introduced in Season 2, she’ll step up as the lead in this show.

There are also preliminary plans for a spin-off involving Jared Padalecki’s character of Camden Casey, Bode’s fire chief instructor. Tentatively titled Surfside, the new series would follow Camden in Southern California. The status of that show is a bit up in the air as Padalecki is currently attached to an untitled CBS medical drama pilot. Whether or not that gets picked up will decide if the Surfside spin-off goes ahead after all.

However the spin-offs go, at least Fire Country fans will be happy to see the show continue to blaze its way into Season 4 for more drama and thrills.

Fire Country Season 3 airs Fridays at 9/8c on CBS.
