Only 1 FOX show was canceled in 2024 (but another was announced as ending)

FOX decided to only cancel one series in 2024. That didn't mean good news for every other series on the network, though.

It’s rare that almost every single show makes it through to another season, especially when it comes to FOX. And yet, only one series was canceled in 2024.

Of course, it wasn’t all good news. FOX did end up announcing that another series would come to an end. Yet, the decision to only cancel one show was a surprise to many, as we got ready for some mass cancellations by the network.

The FOX show canceled in 2024

FOX decided to cancel HouseBroken after two seasons. This was somewhat of a surprise, as it’s rare now that the network will cancel its animated comedy. Animation Domination is a huge marketing part of Sunday nights on the network, continuing to hold steady in the ratings even when the football disrupts things.

HouseBroken was a comedy series that gave us a look at human behavior through the eyes of animals. Have you ever wondered what your pets think of you? Well, this series added a comedic spin to that idea.

If you look at the linear ratings, it’s not all that surprising that the series was canceled. It just didn’t find its audience, although I will say that cancelling it after the strikes was unfair. It was hard for all shows after the strikes.

I was surprised that Alert: Missing Persons Unit wasn’t canceled. The series was also struggling to find its audience, but I guess it makes for okay springtime programming for the network. That’s not to say I didn’t enjoy Alert, but the second season wasn’t as strong as the first.

The show FOX announced would end in 2024

While FOX didn’t cancel anything else, it did announce that a series would air its final season. This came after months of speculation. Yes, it was all about 911: Lone Star.

After taking a year off due to the strikes, the series returned with news that one of the OG cast members would leave. There would be no Sierra McClain, which led to a lot of questions about how Grace would be written out of the series while Judd would stick around. While disappointing overall, the series did the best it could.

The series won’t come to an end until 2025, though. There are still three episodes left to air, with the first of those airing on Monday, Jan. 20.
