4 FOX shows I need to see renewed by May 2025

A lot of FOX shows are still on the bubble, and here are four that I need to see renewed.

As we close in on the end of another regular TV season, it means final decisions will be made. There are still a number of FOX shows on the bubble, and some I need to see make it through another season. Some of these are likely going to make it, while others are very much at the bottom in terms of linear ratings and their futures are on the line.

This is a mixture of drama, comedy, and reality TV. You won’t see me write about everything regularly because I like to keep some shows as ones that I watch for entertainment, but just because I don’t write about them doesn’t mean I don’t like them.

Extracted

When it comes to reality TV, I don’t tend to watch a lot. However, Extracted immediately caught my attention. It is one of those shows that I chat to a couple of friends about as we discuss how we would do, and whether we would “extract” people and lose out on the money.

The series is a look at how everyday people can actually handle the outdoors. I didn’t realize some of the twists that would be involved with the family when initially tuning in, so I quickly appreciated them and saw how it was more of a team event. I love strategy shows, as they offer a little more than the typical romance reality shows.

Animal Control

One of the shows that I watch purely for entertainment is Animal Control. This series has brought plenty of laugh, but it’s also offered some excellent character development, which can be lost in comedy shows as episodes end up so short.

Okay, I’m an animal lover as well. I adore seeing the antics that the animal control guys get up to when they’re dealing with some of the creatures and critters that they find. While this series sits in the middle of FOX shows in the linear ratings, I could see FOX renewing it because it needs comedy in its lineup, and the only other live-action comedy is Going Dutch, and that hasn’t performed all that well.

Alert: Missing Persons Unit

The crime genre is one of my favorites, as there are so many ways storylines can go. Alert: Missing Persons Unit brought some intriguing storylines as the team focused on finding missing people. While Found has a private team handling missing persons cases, Alert used a special police unit, and there was a personal connection to why that unit was set up.

The third season has taken a turn that I did not have on my 2025 TV show bingo card with a death that changes everything. This was the moment that I sat up and said “give me more.” Okay, I wanted more after the first episode as the writing is still strong, but the second episode has made me feel like the stakes are higher than ever before.

ACCUSED: Ken Jeong in the "Eugene's Story" episode of ACCUSED airing Tuesday, Dec 3 (8:00-9:00 PM ET/PT) on FOX.

Accused

While the second season wasn’t as strong as the first, I still think there’s a need for this series. The anthology show makes you question your own bias as you watch the storyline play out. I put one episode on for a friend, and both of us had a completely different bias throughout and neither of us got it right by the end.

We get to see the court process, and we see the real story play out. This offers a look at how criminal trials can be twisted, and it shows us failings in the justice and health care systems. If there are more storylines as strong as the first season, this series could certainly be worth continuing. It’s toward the bottom of the linear ratings and ended at the end of 2024, so I’m going with Accused will be canceled, though.
