Ghosts season 6 might not officially kick off until 2027, but fans won't have to wait until the new year to return to Woodstone Manor and to learn Pete's fate!

While Ghosts is on the move to midseason, fans will get to drop in on their favorite spirits via a pair of one-hour holiday specials. The first of these two specials arrives on Thursday, October 29, as Halloween rolls around at Woodstone Manor. Months have passed since the events of the season 5 finale, with Pete still missing and the ghosts trying everything they can to get answers.

Of course, the search for Pete is just part of the chaos that ensues on Halloween after Hetty is reconnected with her estranged sister, Margaret, whose arrival opens up the Ghosts world with new rules and new abilities. With so much changing at Woodstone Manor, there’s plenty for fans to look forward to as the show kicks off its new season with two holiday specials.

During New York Comic Con, FanSided caught up with Ghosts stars Devan Chandler Long, Rebecca Wisocky, Sheila Carrasco, and Utkarsh Ambudkar, who offered up some fun teases of what is coming fans' way in the show's Halloween and Christmas specials!

This season's very unique in that we get to start with two holiday specials before we dive right into the season, where usually the holiday episodes air a few episodes into the season. How fun has it been, like getting to go into these holiday specials and piece out the cliffhanger, which we've been told will not be immediately resolved?

Rebecca Wisocky: Well, it's fun to have an hour to play with in this format.

Utkarsh Ambudkar: It's a lot of work, which is great. It's a longer story to tell, and you're basically making two little movies.

Devan Chandler Long: Utkarsh wears a tank top and it is fitted, bro.

Ambudkar: I'm ripped in the Christmas episode…

Wisocky: And a little bit oiled up...

Ambudkar: So oiled up. I forgot. It looked good; I was really oily. The Halloween [special] obviously is like a horror comedy, and then for Christmas, instead of what we normally do, which is like a kind of the rom-com Christmas, the sweet movies that we're used to with our specials, this is based off of Die Hard, so we have two really distinct genre episodes, which are really fun. They were a departure for all of us.

Sheila Carrasco: And both were like very heavy in visual effects. So it got really, I mean, just like so creative with what the crew and the visual effects department had to do and very technical, but also very funny. It did feel like we were in a Marvel movie.

Ambudkar: I think they have to be big; they had to be big swings because our fans are like, “Why aren't you guys coming back in October?”

I mean, obviously, practically there are reasons, but the people who watch Ghost don't care about those reasons. They want the show to come back now. So hopefully we're tiding them over with two specials that are really special.

Wisocky: And very different style and tone and feeling, but some of the best of the stuff that Ghost does best. They're sentimental; they have drive, musicality, action, and weirdness.

Carrasco: Both kind of blow the Ghosts world open a little bit with new rules and new abilities.

Wisocky: We meet in the Halloween episode Hetty's mustachioed sister Margaret, played by Maria Thayer, and she's a brand new form of ghost, so that expands the mythology. She comes to us in a mirror, so that's something that we hadn't experienced yet. There's all kinds of complications, and you can imagine all the FX that was involved in shooting those scenes and how much more difficult that was.

Ambudkar: The Christmas episode is wild too. It's like a home invasion episode. It's Die Hard. It’s very, very cool. What you'll see is our director, Todd Berman, is he's sort of in Ghosts world, tried to create shot-for-shot the same frames as Die Hard. For any eagle-eyed viewers, I'll drop that in to see where he's taken homage or just completely copied the frame that you see.

Carrasco: Yeah, we get to see one of our cast members flex a very amazing special skill of theirs very extensively in the Christmas special. I can't say who, but somebody has a special skill, and they really wrote for it.
