TGIT is coming back, but there’s some bad news. It’s not happening just yet. Grey’s Anatomy season 21 is not coming back in February 2025.
We knew that this was going to be the case, though. ABC made it clear before Grey’s Anatomy, and the rest of TGIT, went on a winter hiatus that the show wouldn’t be back for some time. We would have to wait a few months for the return,, and now there is finally a light at the end of the tunnel.
When will Grey’s Anatomy return with new episodes?
The good news is the return is happening very soon. Grey’s Anatomy returns on Thursday, March 6.
There is some good news that comes from this break. The longer break now means we’re closer to May when the series does return. This means fewer breaks in the schedule, so better consistency in the storytelling. We can look at how Chicago Fire fans are hating the current breaks in the schedule due to the January winter premieres.
What to expect when Grey’s Anatomy season 21 returns
There have been some major changes to the staff in recent episodes. Levi and Mika have left Grey Sloan Memorial for different reasons. Levi got an opportunity in Texas, so moved there. Mika realized that she couldn’t work in the same hospital where her sister died.
We’ll get to see how everyone deals with the exits when the series comes back. There are also questions about how Webber will react as Meredith makes it clear that she did the right thing in not telling him about Catherine’s illness. Had Meredith said anything, she would have broken HIPPA. Out of everyone, Webber should be angry with Catherine for keeping her illness from him.
Eyes will be on whether there will be more to the story after this. What are the chances of Grey’s Anatomy season 22 happening? While the series hasn’t landed an official renewal yet and the ratings have seen a decline, I do think this series is good for another season.
