There is some good and bad news when it comes to Happy’s Place. The first season has come to an end, and that means we don’t have any more episodes in the 2024–2025 TV season.
Yes, sadly for Reba McEntire fans, the first season of the new NBC comedy has come to an end. There have been some excellent moments throughout the 18 episodes, including the final episode hiting at something coming between Bobbie and Emmett. It’s clear they both have feelings for each other, but there are fears that it will change the dynamic in the tavern.
Happy’s Place season 2 is officially happening
In some great news, there is going to be a second season of the comedy series. It and St. Denis Medical have been the only two freshman shows renewed by NBC so far. In fact, they’ve been the only two shows renewed at all, making it clear that they are both hits.
There is no word on the episode count just yet, but we’re expecting something similar to the first season. Like other freshman shows, Happy’s Place was originally given a 13-episode order, but that was extended to 18 as the show immediately became a Fraidy night gem for the network. We’re looking at 18 episodes at least in season 2, but we may get a full 22-episode season.
When will Happy’s Place season 2 premiere?
How long is this break going to be? Well, expect a full summer hiatus. The earliest we’re likely to see the series premiere is in September 2025. The first season didn’t premiere until October 2024, so we could have to wait an extra month. We are certain that the series will be part of the fall lineup, as NBC would be silly to miss the opportunity of the viewership.
We’ll know more in May, as that’s when the fall schedule is announced. This will tell us if the show will remain on Friday nights or move to Tuesdays or another night during the week. Fridays are a great slot for this series. What was once the “Death Night” of TV has become a night of loyalty from a lot of viewers. Plus, a show like this is a great watch at the weekend for those who stream in Peacock the next day.
Happy’s Place is available to stream on Peacock to play catch-up before season 2 arrives.
