High Potential isn't new tonight, Tuesday, Nov. 19 (and there's more bad news)

High Potential season 1 isn't over, but we won't have more new episodes for a while. Here's what we know about the show's plans for 2025!

The freshman crime drama series, High Potential, has been airing new episodes fairly routinely this fall, but there will not be a new episode on Tuesday, November 19, and we have some bad news for fans who are hoping to see what happens next this year: the show will not be airing any new episodes until 2025.

So far, the series has aired seven episodes and has built an audience that's eager and waiting for more. The show follows Morgan, a single mother with three kids who, when we first meet her, is a cleaning lady at a police department in LA. But with an IQ of 160, she finds herself decoding evidence from recent crimes and using her unique skill set to crack murder cases -- all of which earns her a consulting job in the department.

What many fans who watch on Tuesdays may not have realized is that High Potential season 1 aired its winter finale episode on Tuesday, Nov. 12, titled "One of Us." Ahead of the episode's release, Kaitlin Olson posted a teaser on her Instagram account joking with fans to not be upset with her about the hiatus in the popular show's release schedule, saying, "You'll have to wait till January for the rest. Don't scream at me, I make television, not schedules."

When is High Potential season 1 airing new episodes?

According to the new midseason winter release schedule published by ABC, High Potential will return with new episodes starting on Tuesday, Jan. 7. This means the series will also be keeping its current Tuesday night spot, however, it will be airing an hour earlier than it has been in the fall. So far this season, the show has aired at 10 p.m. ET/PT and has followed Dancing with the Stars. But, when the show returns in January, it will instead air at 9 p.m. ET/PT.

High Potential will also be joined by other popular crime drama series on Tuesdays when it returns in January (I love a well-themed block of shows!). New episodes of Will Trent season 3 will air at 8 p.m. ET/PT, followed by High Potential, and then new episodes of The Rookie season 7 will air at 10 p.m. ET/PT.

If you're unable to watch High Potential live Tuesday nights on ABC, the series is also available to stream the following day on Hulu. And if you haven't caught up on all of the episodes so far, you have plenty of time to stream them on Hulu now before the second half of season 1 airs in early 2025!
