We’re finally getting a Law & Order crossover event that includes a one-night Organized Crime return to NBC!
It’s been a while since we had a Law & Order crossover. The last one was the Law & Order: SVU Season 24 and Law & Order: Organized Crime Season 3 finales linking together on a tough case.
It is commonplace for some characters to pop up on other shows, as Benson (Mariska Hargitay) stopped by Law & Order while an episode of SVU had Carisi (Peter Scanavino) meeting DA Baxter (Tony Goldwyn) in a case. Aside from that, the shows haven't done as many of the big crossover events as the One Chicago series.
Now, we finally have a date and info on the next big Law & Order crossover!
What is the Law & Order crossover about?
Per TVLine, Thursday, April 17, will have a two-part storyline that begins on Law & Order before moving to SVU (exact episode titles have yet to be revealed). The logline looks like a unique case linking the two squads.
“Over the course of the crossover, a mysterious phone call to Capt. Benson of the SVU leads detectives to the scene of a brutal murder. When the SVU and the 2-7 uncover a pattern of rape and murder targeting marginalized women, Carisi and ADA Price team up to charge the suspect with multiple crimes.”
As with all crossovers, the fun will be seeing the two squads working together as the SVU cops have a different approach to things like the main Law & Order detectives. It’ll also be good to see Benson working with Jessica Brady (Maura Tierney).
Likewise, seeing Carisi and Price (Hugh Dancy) on the same side can be intriguing as they have their own approaches to a case. The two sides working on this case promise some major drama for fans.

Organized Crime returns to NBC
To make this crossover even bigger, the same night has Law & Order: Organized Crime premiering its first episode of Season 5, the same day it debuts on its new home on Peacock.
The fifth season follows Stabler (Christopher Meloni) continuing to track down a master criminal while his younger brother is undercover inside the organization.
The show’s move to Peacock is set to be a big deal, with the series expecting to cut loose without network restrictions. However, having the first episode on NBC as a “free preview” makes sense as it links to the other Law & Order shows and once more a Law & Order Thursday.
This means Found will have a special airing on Monday, April 14, before returning to its regular Thursday time slot on April 24.
So, between the crossover and Organized Crime returning for a night, April 17 brings back Law & Order Thursdays for a special NBC event!
Law & Order airs Thursdays at 8/7c on NBC, followed by Law & Order: Special Victims Unit.
