NBC debuted its new scripted series, Found, on Oct. 3, 2023, and I have to say that I’m already loving this new procedural drama! There’s a lot of shows about missing people, detectives, and what not. But the series starring Shanola Hampton in the lead role puts a different spin on things. And honestly in the age of reboots, remakes, and rehashes – this is something I personally look for when starting a new production.

With the premiere episode out and the second debuting on Tuesday, how long do we have withthe season and series? Found has a total of 13 episodes on NBC. Episodes air Tuesday nights on the network at 10 p.m. ET, and new episodes are available to stream the next day on Peacock.

If you think this is low compared to the 20-22 episode seasons dramas usually get, don’t worry. Most series in their first seasons get a smaller number of episodes. This is because the networks want to see how a project will do viewership wise. And if it does well and gets another season, usually the episode count goes up.

It’s still early to know whether Found is getting a season 2 renewal. But with the way the story is going so far, I wouldn’t be surprised! Do you need a refresher on what happened in the premiere episode? Read on below for just that!

What happened in the premiere of the NBC procedural drama and what’s to come

Right off the bat, we get into Gabi Mosely’s backstory of how she was abducted 20 years ago by a man known as Sir. We see her time held hostage with another girl named Bella. Eventually, the two girls are able to escape after Gabi is able to hit Sir with a cast iron. But when police show up, he’d already escaped. You would think the season-long quest for our main character would be to find him, right?

Well, Found takes a different approach which is what makes it unique! It turns out Gabi is actually hiding Sir in her basement, shackled by the ankle. It’s not yet explained how she found her former captor and managed to hide him at her home. That’s going to be an interesting story to see play out. Be sure to check out the in-depth recap of episode 1 here.

Gabi uses his criminal expertise to help her figure out the cases she’s working on. She now has a PR agency that looks for missing people. And she’ll do all that it takes, even going above the law, to do so. Though Sir has proven to be useful, just how long does Gabi plan to keep him around for? And what will she do when his usefulness is no longer handy?

Looking ahead at episode 2, “Missing While Sinning,” Gabi and her team search for a personal escort who disappeared somewhere close to her apartment, per the synopsis. Elsewhere, a news anchor “launches a nationwide search” for Sir, while Dhan makes a breakthrough with Zeke.

Found airs Tuesdays at 10 p.m. ET on NBC.
