Has FBI just given Maggie a possible new love interest? The cards seem to play out that way!

Caution: This article contains SPOILERS for FBI Season 7 Episode 12

FBI fans know Maggie (Missy Peregrym) lost her husband, a reporter who was murdered for getting too close to a scandal before the series began. She's been pretty focused on the job since she hasn't had much time for romance.

In "Manhunt," the team worked with tech analyst Elise Taylor (Vidette Lim) to bust a sex trafficking ring. The sting went badly with the suspect running off with the young girl he was planning to sell, Analis.

Maggie barely lost them and vowed to find Analis. She got a break when a 911 dispatcher named Joel reached out to the FBI as Analis had managed to contact him. Joel would help the team over the phone, as they played the traffickers off each other to find Analis.

They eventually discovered the girl just as she was about to be crushed in a car compactor, suffering from wounds. Thankfully, Joel was an EMT and led Maggie through a field thoracostomy to save Analis' life.

Will we see Joel again on FBI?

At the hospital, Maggie was checking in on Analis when up came Joel (Billy Barrett). He wanted to see how the girl was doing, with Maggie thanking him for his help. The two decided to share coffee while waiting for the girl to wake up, with Joel bringing a rare smile to Maggie's face.

So, is this the start of a new love affair? It would be interesting given Maggie hasn't gotten as much romance as other agents. Scola is with girlfriend Nina, OA has a girlfriend Gemma, Jubal, and his ex-wife may be reconciling, and, in a huge surprise, Isobel revealed she'd secretly gotten married.

Thus, Maggie finding a romance of her own is overdue. The woman has been through a lot from her addict sister's problems to losing a good friend and briefly raising her daughter. She needs some happiness and Peregrym even hinted to TV Insider that may be coming.

"She's made her job her priority after her husband died [before the show's storyline began], but having Ella [her late friend's daughter she briefly took in] has opened her heart up again…so we'll see."

Joel seems a good match for Maggie as a former doctor turned 911 operator so he knows how dangerous her life can be. So far, it's just coffee yet the chemistry between the actors was clear even before they met face-to-face. So we can hope that Joel becomes a regular presence to give Maggie some much needed bright spots to her FBI life.

FBI Season 7 airs Tuesdays at 8/7c on CBS.
