Matlock season 2 came to a close with a super-sized two-hour finale, and CBS went all out for the finale event, bringing in an all-star roster of guest stars to close out the season!
Leading the guest cast for the finale is an actress who is no stranger to high-profile guest spots, having made a career out of playing iconic characters across some of the biggest shows on television. We’re referring to Bridget Regan, who guest stars in the Matlock season finale as ADA Marcia, who faces off against Matty and Olympia in the courtroom during their final case of the season.
Regan is a regular in the world of television, currently starring in several hit series including ABC’s The Rookie, where she brilliantly plays antagonist Monica Stevens. Monica is one of many amazing antagonists Regan has taken on over the years, as there is truly no one better at playing iconic villainesses!
In addition to her work on Matlock and The Rookie, Regan has played the scientist behind the toxin that took the life of Captain Bobby Nash on 911; she played iconic DC Comics villain Poison Ivy on The CW’s Batwoman; Soviet assassin Dottie Underwood on Agent Carter; con artist Rebecca Lowe on White Collar; and Rose Solano, famously known as the international crime lord "Sin Rostro,” on Jane the Virgin.
Speaking of Jane the Virgin, the Matlock season 2 finale also featured a guest appearance from Jane the Virgin herself, Gina Rodriguez! The former lead of The CW’s Golden Globe-winning comedy guest starred in the Matlock season finale, playing Lida Guitierrez. Lida works at the Department of Justice and is brought in to help Matty and Olympia with the Wellbrexa battle.
Rodriquez is best known for playing the title character of Jane Villanueva in Jane the Virgin, but the show is just one of her many amazing roles. Most recently she led ABC’s short-lived comedy Not Dead Yet and recurred as Assistant District Attorney Marion Alba on Will Trent.
Also appearing as part of the Matlock season 2 finale guest cast are Riki Lindhome and Randy Alexander Gonzalez, who play a husband and wife duo at the heart of the finale's legal case.
Lindhome is perhaps best known for her work in films such as The Last House on the Left, My Best Friend’s Girl, and Knives Out. TV fans will recognize her from her work as Dr. Valerie Kinbott on Netfilx's hit comedy Wednesday and leading Comedy Central's hit comedy Another Period. Gonzalez, meanwhile, has appeared in mostly guest roles on hit shows such as Chicago PD, Dexter: Original Sin, The Cleaning Lady, The Walking Dead: Dead City, The Resident, Better Call Saul, and The Rookie.
The finale also welcomed back several recurring guest stars from Matlock season 2 including Justina Machado as Eva Munoz, Patricia Belcher as Emmalyn Belvin, and James Lesure as Lester 'The Wolf' Logan.
