NCIS franchise fans have been looking forward to more information about NCIS: New York, the latest spinoff that will bring back LL Cool J as Sam Hanna from NCIS: Los Angeles. Now, new cast members have been revealed, including Jennifer Beals.
Beals, who is best known for her work on The L Word, is set to portray the NCIS director for the New York Field Office, Assistant Special Agent in Charge Robyn Wells. Her character is Hanna’s boss, in addition to Scott Caan’s Agent Nick Schaeffer.
What do we know so far about the new characters on NCIS: New York?
The series will center around Hanna returning to his hometown of New York City to work for the New York field office. It is here that he will partner with Schaeffer as they lead a team of agents on high-stakes missions to defend the city and its ports.
In addition to Beals, other members of the team have also been cast on the show. Jacqueline Byers from the CBS series Salvation will portray NCIS Special Agent Addison “Addy” Ross, who is described as being a resourceful and rock-solid agent who feels she has something to prove.
Shane Harper, who starred on Starz’s Power Book IV: Force, will play Special Agent Wyatt Hill, who is a highly skilled agent who has no fear but is also a romantic. Lastly, Devin Druid from Netflix’s 13 Reasons Why will play Tech Specialist Sean Sullivan, who is described as being both brilliant and witty while also not being very open to authority.
NCIS: New York will join the 2026-2027 television series, airing alongside NCIS and NCIS: Origins. Cool J has been making appearances on NCIS, which appears to have been preparing fans for the possibility of seeing him again permanently.
With Hanna coming back to our screens, fans hope that this means we might at least hear about some former characters from NCIS: Los Angeles. A recent podcast episode from NCIS's Brian Dietzen and Diona Reasonover featured LA star Eric Christian Olsen, who played Marty Deeks. He mentioned that he would have loved to have been able to write an episode centered on what happened to Hetty Lange, who was played by Linda Hunt on the series and led the Los Angeles Office of Special Projects.
It would be pretty cool to see something like this happen on NCIS: New York since it would be fitting considering Sam Hanna’s relationship with her. Plus, with Olson now executive producing season 3 of NCIS: Origins, he could also join New York either behind the scenes or in front of the camera again as Deeks.
We will keep you updated as more news comes out about the NCIS franchise.
