Over the course of 10 episodes, Paramount+ brought fans the Tony DiNozzo we fell in love with in NCIS from 2003 to 2016. NCIS: Tony & Ziva reunited us with his fun side but also allowed us to meet his grown-up personality. As an agent he was known as the goofy one who always cracked a joke involving a movie. Fast forward to 2025; he’s a former NCIS agent who runs his own company, Salus Mondiale Security Services, in Paris, France.
Despite lingering wishes for the past, DiNozzo created a wonderful life for himself, his daughter, Ziva, and his Paris friends. Although we didn’t get another season, his time on our screens wasn’t wasted. We not only witnessed his love for Tali but also his love story with Ziva. After all these years, Tony and Ziva are still endgame. But with the cancellation, will we ever know what happened to them?
We don’t know much about what we can expect from Weatherly's return, but we’re still just as thrilled. In July 2026, CBS announced Michael Weatherly's return to NCIS after his 2016 departure. Now we can confirm that his company, Salus Mondiale Security Services, brings him back to Washington. After ten years away, he’s walking back into the NCIS building where a new team is running the show, and he’s gained some maturity.
On August 25, 2026, fans were treated to our first look at Tony in NCIS season 24. From his return on the spin-off series, we knew Tony had some miles on him, but he still looks dashing as ever. Showrunner Steven D. Binder told fans that we’ll still see the Tony that lights up a scene, but we’ll also be treated to the maturity he gained by raising a daughter, running his company, and growing as a man during his time away. I’m eager to see the “emotional depth” his age has brought to his character as he steps back into his old life as a visitor.
DiNozzo’s Paris friends should make an appearance in NCIS
Since we know DiNozzo’s “expanding his company in Washington,” will he bring along his Paris team, daughter, and Ziva? So far, we’ve only heard of Tony’s return. After only a brief time with our new characters, we deserve to see their stories continue alongside him. He created a life for himself but also for the people around him.
With just over a month until NCIS season 24, will we hear about more returns? I’m not sure, but I think there’s plenty of room for our Paris characters to join DiNozzo in Washington. Even if they are only cameos and brief scenes to tie up some questions about where they are now. Although we saw the start of their journeys following the case, I’d love to see how all of their storylines panned out.
How the Tony & Ziva characters could fit into NCIS season 24
NCIS: Tony & Ziva left our characters in okay places, but there was definitely more story to tell. Claudette (Amita Suman) is still working alongside Tony at his company while also being open about her feelings for Tali’s nanny, Sophie (Lara Rossi). Boris (Maximilian Osinski) and Fruzsi are officially no more, and she took everything from him when she left Paris. This ending led Boris to tell Tony and Claudette that he could start Monday at Salus Mondiale. Back at the apartment, Tali (Isla Gie) approves of her parents dating again but doesn’t miss the chance to play a joke on them, mirroring her dad’s humor. They closed out the last episode with the ending we deserved: Tony and Ziva (Cote de Pablo) in love and parenting their daughter in Paris.
With all those storylines in mind, I think there are ways to include the Paris characters alongside Tony’s return. Boris and Claudette both work with Tony at Salus Mondiale, which could bring them along for the expanding project in Washington. Sophie is dating Claudette but also cares for Tali. If Ziva and Tali join him for the trip, they’ll need Sophie along with them. She proved to be a great asset in Paris. With all that said, I could understand why Ziva wouldn’t want to return to Washington, where so many things went wrong for her. Although she’s gained so much strength, Washington could be a trigger for her.
