The One Chicago shows are now on a break, but when will they be back
Whether you need more of Firehouse 51 or you’re ready to check in with Intelligence, there’s some bad news. All three One Chicago shows are now on their winter breaks.
Chicago Med, Chicago Fire, and Chicago PD all aired their 2024 fall finales on Wednesday, Nov. 20. That’s it for the rest of the year. We won’t check in with them until 2025. The good news is there isn’t too long to wait. NBC has set return dates.
All three shows will return on Wednesday, Jan. 8. Med will kick off the night with then Fire and PD, as usual.
What to expect in Chicago Med season 10, episode 9
Things didn’t end well for Sharon in the fall finale. She was stabbed while in her office and no way to call for help. She certainly tried, but the woman who had been stalking her all this time—the family member of a deceased patient—figured out what Sharon was doing and stopped her.
The end of the episode saw Archer heading to Sharon’s office to hand in a letter of resignation. He decided to slip it under the door, which was the distraction Sharon needed to run out into the hallway. That’s where it all ended, and we have to wait until the premiere to find out if Archer can save Sharon or not. How will this all go down, and how will the staff at Chicago Med handle surgery on one of their own.
Also, is this the last we’ve seen of Sarah? I don’t think it is, and I think there are a lot of ethical questions she will need to answer. Charles did the right thing in putting Ariel on a 72-hour hold.
What to expect in Chicago Fire season 13, episode 9
Chicago Fire ended with Cruz in trouble. Throughout the episode, he kept finding bullets in his locker and around his car. They weren’t real bullets, though. It turned out that they were holders for ashes, and sure enough, there were human ashes in those bullets. Cruz knows where they came from, as well. It’s time for the past to catch back up on Cruz and Leon.
Ritter spent the episode trying to work out how he was going to tell his boyfriend he doesn’t want to move in with him yet. I hope we don’t see the end of this relationship. In fact, it would be good to see this conversation happen on screen.
By the way, Severide will be back in the Chicago Fire season 13 winter premiere. He was only away with work during the fall finale.
What to expect in Chicago PD season 12, episode 9
Meanwhile, Intelligence will need to look out for two missing girls. They have been kidnapped and there is a ransom out for them. If their parents don’t pay the ransom, the girls are dead, and Voight will not allow that to happen. It will be all hands on deck to find them.
Voight will also have to deal with whatever game Reid is playing. He isn’t turning Voight and the team in for Torres’s actions because he wants to be “friends” with Voight. In other words, he’s going to want something covered up for him, but what is it?
Episode 9 will also need to show us how Intelligence will mend the fracture. Learning that Torres was sleeping with his CI was a huge shock to so many of them. Ruzek is angry that Torres’s actions could have led to Burgess going to prison and Cook and Atwater were clearly disappointed in Torres’s actions. Can they find a way to mend the gap, or will Torres need to find a new place in the CPD?
One Chicago returns with new episodes on Wednesday, Jan. 8 starting at 8/7c on NBC. Catch up on all three shows on Peacock.
