The 911: Lone Star season 5 promo gives us a look at the new (surprise) dispatcher
We got some bad news earlier this year. Sierra McClain won’t return as Grace in 911: Lone Star season 5. That means there’s an opening for the dispatcher storyline. The first promo for the new season is out, and it gives us a look at who we can expect.
Not only do we know that McClain isn’t returning, but there was a report that Jim Parrick wouldn’t be back. Well, the report actually stated that Judd was resigning from the 126 to be able to care for his son Wyatt. Nothing said that Parrick wouldn’t actually be back in the series, and it looks like we may end up seeing more of him.
No, he’s not the new dispatcher. The new dispatcher is a familiar face, though. Wyatt, played by Jackson Pace, is set to become part of the dispatcher team.
Take a look at the 911: Lone Star season 5 promo
The promo gives us a hint of things to come in the new season. It is a grainy look at the promo via social media, as someone has taken a video of it from their phone while watching TV. There is a clear look at Wyatt behind the desk, helping people in a time of their emergency.
Wyatt wanted to be a firefighter, but a motorcycle accident left him paralyzed. With some therapy, there was hope that he would be able to gain some movement back, but he would never recover to be able to follow in his dad’s footsteps.
Well, there is another way that he can help. It looks like he’ll follow in his stepmom’s footsteps instead.
What’s going on with Grace and Judd?
Of course, the reveal that Wyatt is going to be the new dispatcher has brought up concerns about Grace and Judd again. When we learned Judd would resign from the 126, it seemed like Parrick was also leaving the series. This would allow for us to believe that Grace and Judd were happy together off-screen while they helped Wyatt.
Instead, it looks like we could see Judd but not Grace. Will Grace just be away to help care for other family members while Judd is caring for Wyatt? Has Judd resigning led to Grace leaving him? We’re certainly hoping that the latter is not the case, but it does have us a little concerned.
At least the change of dispatcher won’t be too jarring. It’ll be good to see Wyatt overcome his disabilities now and find meaning in life. He just won’t be as good as Grace!
911: Lone Star season 5 premieres on Monday, Sept. 23 on Fox.
