Accused season 2 is skipping FOX's summer schedule but we do have an exciting update!

Accused just got a significant update for fans to prepare for Season 2! Find out when you can enjoy the second season of this great crime drama!

Based on a 2010 British series of the same name, Accused premiered on Fox in January of 2023. Each episode opens with a person on trial, with flashbacks slowly showing what their accused crime is and what really happened. It’s an anthology, with every episode featuring a different cast of characters and storyline, making it different from other drama shows. A few episodes adapt the original British series, while the majority are original tales. 

The series is notable for the fantastic guest star cast, which includes Michael Chiklis, Rachel Bilson, Malcolm-Jamal Warner, Whitney Cummings, Jason Ritter, Abigail Breslin, Meghan Rath, Keith Carradine, and more. The fact you get a new cast of great actors every episode always makes the show worthwhile. It also means that there's more tension for the viewers to see if these characters make it through their trial or not.

It’s also great for the twists, as every episode showcases how the crime is never what audiences expect, and some episodes have bittersweet turns. Sadly, an innocent person can go to jail while a guilty figure goes free, which shows how justice is difficult. The unpredictability keeps it from becoming too formula and thus more watchable.

The show was a ratings success enough for Fox to order a second season in March 2023. However, there’s been little development since then, so is it coming out?

When does Accused season 2 arrive?

Like all network shows, Season 2 of Accused was delayed thanks to the strikes hitting Hollywood in 2023. There had been hopes it could make the mid-season schedule or perhaps air over the summer, but instead Fox decided to hold it off until fall of 2024. 

Thankfully, TV Line has announced that production on Season 2 is set to begin this summer. The delay is no doubt due to how, as an anthology, the series has a trickier time gathering guest casts rather than using the same actors every episode. The writers are also working on tales, perhaps inspired by the original British series while also crafting original stories. 

Fox hasn’t announced any release window yet, but with this news, fans of Accused are hopeful that this fall will bring more of this compelling drama that always leaves viewers guessing until the end.
