Bold and the Beautiful's new cast member is a Forrester! (What to know about Electra)

Recently it was announced that The Bold and the Beautiful would be getting a new cast member. "Brittany" was touted as being "poised, beautiful, confident, playful, energetic, and assertive" as well as fashionable. Well, news has broken on who has been cast in the role, the character's real name, and what family she has ties to. Get ready everyone, a new Forrester is coming to town and she's bringing her very familiar aunt with her!

Soap Opera Digest reports that Laneya Grace has been cast as Electra Forrester (great name!). She'll make her first appearance on Tuesday, Oct. 22 as the actress began filming the week of Sept. 16. Grace is a model whose acting credits include the film 24 Hours and the music video for Avicii's "Wake Me Up." We'll have to see if her modeling background will play into her role as Electra but we do know that her casting comes with the news that Ashleigh Brewer will be making another appearance on the soap as Ivy Forrester.

Electra is Ivy's niece and the granddaughter of John Forrester, Eric's brother who was played by the late Fred Willard. It's unknown what brings Ivy and Electra to town but the last time we caught up with Ivy she had popped into town and had a lunch date with Liam. She tried to unsuccessfully rekindle their romance, though she did get some kisses in, she also talked about how well her line has been doing and had popped in on her uncle Eric.

Could Ivy be teaming up with Forrester Creations? Perhaps. She is a jewelry designer and the fashion firm hasn't had an in-house jewelry designer since Quinn left. It's unclear if Brewer will be sticking around or if she's doing another one episode pop in so that Grace can be introduced but a visit about business would be a good way to get these two in Los Angeles.

It would also give Electra the opportunity to see her extended family's company and potentially bump into one of the eligible bachelors that roam its halls. The character is supposed to be 18-20 years old so that leaves her options as RJ or Will. Sure, Zende could slide in as an option as well but he's not in his late teens or early 20s so, personally, I'd rather Electra find a spark with someone closer to her age.

If it's RJ, well, that'd still be keeping it in the family but The Bold and the Beautiful isn't deterred by that when the couple aren't blood related. After all, Ivy and Thomas were together. And, Hope and Thomas are considered to be a great love in this universe despite sharing a sibling (RJ). Will, however, would be the more interesting choice since RJ just got out of a romance that ended badly because Luna turned out to be murderous.

A flirtation that may grow into more would help open Will's character up so that he isn't just weighing in on the "will they-won't they" status of his parents Katie and Bill.
