I'm not going to lie, Bold fans, July 17's episode of The Bold and the Beautiful left me rolling my eyes. We're all on the same page that Sheila Carter isn't the Il Giardino killer, right? Sure, she and Tom had that dust-up over his instigating and poking into her past, and she wanted Hollis to throw out the man's bag as well, but that really wasn't enough for her to jeopardize her happiness with Deacon.

Nonetheless, Steffy and Li were determined to confront her at Il Giardino because they're convinced Sheila has to be the murderer due to everything she's done to them. I'd like to remind the class that while Sheila is definitely volatile and dangerous, she doesn't just attack anyone for kicks. There's usually a motive and what the soap has given us thus far is not a strong enough case to plausibly present her as the killer.

I will say though that Chief Baker paying her and Deacon a visit makes absolute sense. Two people died at their restaurant, one under mysterious circumstances, of course, the police would want to speak to them. But things took a turn when Steffy, Li, and Finn busted up into Sheacon's apartment and accused her of murder with no evidence.

They cited her past crimes but had nothing to go on regarding these two latest deaths besides the fact that both men died where Sheila works and lives. That's enough to suspect her but not enough to arrest her let alone take her into custody. In attempt to get herself out of a mess she didn't create, Sheila finally brought Deacon, and everyone else taking up space in her home, up to speed on the last conversation she had with Hollis.

She told them about Tom's bag which triggered a search for it in the restaurant but it didn't turn up. That wasn't surprising since, from what we've seen so far, the unknown person who Hollis was speaking to after hours at Il Giardino likely took the bag and potentially was the person who killed him. Not being able to locate the bag gave Steffy and Li more ammunition to accuse Sheila and Finn even joined in on the calls for Baker to take Sheila in for questioning under "an abundance caution."

I should note though that while the trio were acting like she was being carted off to jail, Sheila wasn't being "taken away." Baker didn't arrest her and her Miranda rights weren't read. He is going to question her but, as far as I can tell, he has no grounds to hold her. What I do know though is that Deacon may need to call in a favor with that judge friend of his again if these murders somehow get pinned on Sheila.
