Ciara mentors the Top 7 on American Idol tonight! Here's all you need to know about the multi-talent

The American Idol contestants have had multiple mentors during season 22, and tonight they were gifted with a truly great one - Ciara! She's such a talent in the industry, it feels like she literally does everything. She helped guide Top 7 contestants Abi Carter, Jack Blocker, Emmy Russell, and the rest to improve upon their vocals, and so they could learn how to move around the stage a bit more in dance. And that's all because Ciara does it all herself!

Meet the multi-talented Ciara

Ciara is a singer, songwriter, dancer, actress, model, and businesswoman. Phew. I think I got all her impressive titles! She's honestly one of my favorite stars in the industry and always manages to impress me. She rose to fame singing in 2004 with her very first studio album, Goodies. Both the record as well as the single of the same name helped Ciara reach recognition and this is where her career begins! Since then, the artist has released a total of seven albums. Some of Ciara's best known songs include "1, 2 Step" ft. Missy Elliott, "Oh" with Ludacris),"Get Up" ft. Chamillionaire, and "Level Up." And I can tell you guys that all of these tunes are definitely hits, but nothing gets me pumped, ready to dance, and just lifts my mood like "Level Up." And through it all, she definitely knows how to dance. That's why the star was so seamless in giving the American Idol Tp 8 advice on how to move and incorporate some dancing into their performances. In 2006, she won a Grammy Award for her song "Lose Control" with Missy Elliott & Fatman Scoop in the Best Short-Form Music Video category. Two years later, she also took home a win at the Billboard Music Awards in the Woman of the Year category. Yes, go girl! The talent also shows what she's got onscreen. She played Nettie in The Color Purple and Amara Winter in Mama, I Want to Sing! Is there anything she can't do?

Other than music, dance, and acting, Ciara has veered into other ventures as well. She's modeled with IMG, became a global brand ambassador for Revlon, co-founded fashion brand The House of LR&C, recycled plastic backpacks and bags brand Dare to Roam, and skincare line On a Mission.

Ciara first began dating NFL quarterback Russell Wilson in 2015, and the two have been married since 2016. The couple has two children together - a daughter born in April 2017, a son in July 2020, and a daughter in December 2023. She also has a son from her previous relationship with rapper, Future. Ciara and her husband both own TV entertainment and film production company Why Not You Productions, which collaborates with Prime Video often.
