Colman Domingo answers whether he'll be in Euphoria season 3
By Sabrina Reed
Euphoria has been on everyone's mind lately though it's been less about the anticipated third season of the hit HBO original and more about the behind-the-scenes drama. Still, we're all curious about what to expect from the show's return. It's been two years since its last season and by the time it heads into production in early 2025, the series will have been off-air for three full years. The ball, however, has begun to roll which is encouraging.
Despite their busy careers now that much of the main cast have turned into film phenom's, particularly star Zendaya, they've been confirmed to be returning. But, there are recurring characters we hope to see in season 3 as well. At the top of my list has been Colman Domingo as Ali Muhammad, a member of the Narcotics Anonymous group that Rue's a part of who eventually becomes her sponsor. Domingo won an Emmy in 2022 for the role and his performance has been nothing short of captivating as Ali listens to Rue, shares his own stories, and is frank with her about the situation she's in.
With Euphoria set to have a time jump that places the character out of high school and in their lives as young adults, the question of whether Domingo will be coming back has certainly come up. The premise of the third season has been tightly kept under wraps, but we do expect the characters to be changed in big and small ways like we all are over the years. For Rue that could have meant another sponsor but that looks like it won't be the case or we'll be doing flashbacks next season.
Domingo confirmed on Watch What Happens Live! that he will be reprising the role of Ali in season 3. He was speaking to a fan who asked the question, but he didn't elaborate on what his character would be up to though he did say, "We'll get that started early next year," further confirming when production is set to start on the third season and that he loves working with Zendaya.
Also expected to return: Zendaya, Maude Apatow, Alexa Demie, Jacob Elordi, Hunter Schafer, and Sydney Sweeney.
Euphoria season 3 doesn't have a release date or window. The series could make its come back on HBO in 2025 though, given the series is prone to delays, a 2026 premiere doesn't seem out of the question. We'll keep you posted as more news comes in. Stay tuned to Hidden Remote and follow us on X!
