SWAT is back on Feb. 16 and we are in for a wild ride. After a quick turn around from being cancelled to being renewed for a seventh, and final season, and then a long hiatus due to the strike, we’ve been ready and waiting for brand new episodes. Now we are finally going to get to see Squad 20 as they begin the final countdown.

The season 7 premiere will find the team in Mexico on a case. In the synopsis for “The Promise,” we learn the trip is due to the hunt for a fugitive from Hondo’s past. According to the synopsis, “The team heads to Mexico City to retrieve a fugitive who slipped from Hondo’s grasp 10 years ago. But when things go awry, old wounds are reopened and Hondo is once again on the killer’s trail, desperate to fulfill a decade-old promise.”

The episode will be part one of a two-parter, so we’re excited to get to see how the team fares during the case. There is so much to look forward to, especially since actress Anna Enger Ritch, who plays Zoe Powell, was promoted to series regular for the final season.

Two of the actors, Kenneth “Kenny” Johnson and Alex Russell, were bumped down to recurring roles for the final season. However, in an interview with TVLine, showrunner Andrew Dettmann said their episodes “are really focused on their characters and the evolution of their storylines.”

What time can you watch the SWAT season 7 premiere?

What about other plotlines such as Hondo and Nichelle’s wedding? Well, from the looks of things, we won’t get to see a wedding. But it doesn’t mean the couple didn’t tie the knot. Maybe we will get to see a photo or flashback of the big day!

As a whole, we’re looking forward to the new season and seeing how the show says goodbye to each of the characters. But for now, we’re excited to get to see the season premiere.

The season premiere of SWAT will air on CBS on Friday, Feb. 16 at 8/7c. You can catch the episode the next day streaming on Paramount+. Plans for the streamer start at $5.99/month for the Essential subscription. But, if you want to watch SWAT live and on-demand the night new episodes air, you'll need a Paramount+ with SHOWTIME subscription which is $11.99/month.
