Daniela Ruah is coming back to the NCIS franchise for a big episode! (What to know)
There will be a mini crossover event featuring two characters from two of the NCIS shows, including one that is no longer on air! Actress Daniela Ruah, who played Kensi Blye on NCIS: Los Angeles for 14 seasons and has directed recent NCIS episodes, will be appearing in a milestone episode of the original series.
The 1,000th episode of NCIS, which will air Monday, April 15, will feature not only her character, but will also NCIS: Hawai’i’s Jane Tennant (Vanessa Lachey). While we do not know a lot about their roles in the episode, we do know that they won’t be appearing in person at NCIS headquarters.
Last time we saw Kensi in the NCIS: Los Angeles series finale, she had just discovered she was pregnant after years of infertility struggles. There was a brief mention of Kensi and her husband Marty Deeks (Eric Christian Olsen) in an episode of NCIS: Hawai’i via Sam Hanna (LL Cool J), who has been in Hawai’i alongside Tennant’s team.
Even though we have not seen Kensi recently, Ruah has been a fixture behind the scenes directing an episode of NCIS called “Left Unsaid.”
How will they appear in the milestone if neither will be in D.C.? Most likely we could see one or both of them in the TAC room or on a zoom call. This was often how we would see Dr. Donald Mallard before his passing.
However it happens, fans of NCIS LA will be so excited to see her! Hopefully, there will be a Deeks and/or baby mention, including their adopted daughter, Rosa.
What will bring Kensi and Tennant to NCIS?
According to TVLine, in an interview with showrunners David North and Steven D. Binder, the 1,000th episode will feature a character being “in grave danger.” In order to investigate and find them, “you’re going to see all of the different franchises brought into this in a little bit of a different way.”
Since it was recently revealed that we will see an appearance by Jared Vance (Spence More II), Director Leon Vance’s (Rocky Carroll) son, does this mean either of them are involved? According to Binder, “There’ll be a personal storyline, and this one will circle around Director Vance.”
Moore will be taking on the role of Vance’s son after Khamani Griffin, who appeared in season 6, and Akinsola Aribo, who was seen in seasons 9-11.
After seeing Vance’s daughter Kayla in season 19 as she prepared to become a probationary NCIS agent, we’re looking forward to seeing what Jared is up to and how he will factor in to the major milestone episode for NCIS.
Ruah had previously stated she was “not opposed at all to showing up as Kensi in one of the NCIS shows," so it's great we're going to be seeing her for such a big achievement for the franchise.
It looks like, however we get Kensi back, it will be an amazing episode all around. Make sure to stay tuned to Hidden Remote for more information on the milestone 1,000th episode of the flagship.
