NCIS fans who also loved NCIS: Los Angeles will get a little bit of love from one of the actresses on the series. Daniela Ruah, who played Kensi Blye during NCIS LA’s 14-season run on CBS, will be returning to the franchise as a director. She has had directing experience before, but this will be her first foray back to the place that introduced us to both her and Kensi.

Ruah had already directed some episodes from her show, but now she will be dipping her toes back into the water on two shows that are still airing. Her first foray back into the franchise will be with an episode of NCIS that is due to air in March. Next, she will tackle an episode of NCIS: Hawaii, which is slated to air in April.

Of returning to the show that started it all, Ruah said, “Kensi was born as a character on NCIS, 15 years ago, so now to be able to step onto that set again, as a director, with that incredible cast and crew, is an absolute honor.”

Ruah began directing NCISLA during its 12th season.

We love seeing stars of the other spinoffs in franchise return to the universe, even if it is behind the scenes!

Her onscreen co-star LL Cool J will be reprising his role as Sam Hannah in NCIS: Hawaii when the show returns on Monday, February 12. He will have a recurring role on the series, and we hope to get some mentions of how the other characters are, including Ruah’s.

When NCIS LA ended, Kensi found out she and her husband, Marty Deeks, played by Eric Christian Olsen, were having a baby after years of infertility.
