The awards season is in full swing, and tonight marks one of the first major ceremonies that people across the globe tune in to watch live. Of course, we're talking about the 81st Golden Globes, taking place this evening in Los Angeles, California. This past year was another incredible one for cinema, which means each category tonight will be stacked with worthy competition. For those Timothée Chalamet stans out there, you'll be happy to know he's nominated for his starring role in Wonka, and yes, he's expected to attend the big show.

At the 2024 Golden Globes, Chalamet is nominated for Best Performance by a Male Actor in a Motion Picture – Musical or Comedy, competing against Jeffrey Wright for American Fiction, Joaquin Phoenix for Beau is Afraid, Matt Damon for Air, Nicolas Cage for Dream Scenario, and Paul Giamatti for The Holdovers. And while it's not looking likely Chalamet will win the award — Giamatti is favored to take home the prize — it's still awesome to see the 28-year-old actor recognized for his work yet again.

How many Golden Globes has Timothée Chalamet been nominated for?

Chalamet's nomination for Wonka at tonight's ceremony marks his third Golden Globe nomination in his career so far, previously being nominated for Best Performance by an Actor in a Supporting Role in a Motion Picture in 2019 for Beautiful Boy and Best Performance by an Actor in a Motion Picture - Drama in 2018 for Call Me By Your Name. This means Chalamet has been nominated for all three acting awards at the Golden Globes, and he's the youngest person to ever do so. That's quite a feat! At the time of this writing, he has never won a Golden Globe.

The Wonka star has also been nominated for one Academy Award, up for Best Performance by an Actor in a Leading Role in 2018 for Call Me By Your Name. He ultimately lost to Gary Oldman for Darkest Hour. The nomination was still huge for Chalamet, however, as at the age of 22 he was the third-youngest person nominated in that category.

In addition to Chalamet's nominations at the Golden Globes and other major award shows, he's also become known as a red carpet fashion icon. In 2019, as you can see in the photo below, he wowed fellow attendees and fans watching at home with his sequined Louis Vuitton outfit. Many were quick to assume it was a sparkly harness, but Chalamet later clarified he was told it was something else. "I thought it was a bib. They told me it was a bib!" he laughed during an appearance on The Ellen Show.

All eyes will be on Chalamet at tonight's Golden Globes to see what he'll show up wearing. Fans can expect him to attend, and we know this not only because he's nominated but also because the show's official X (formerly known as Twitter) account confirmed it in a recent tweet. Sharing a video asking their followers who they think will be seated together during the ceremony, they included Chalamet's seating photo along with actors like Joaquin Phoenix, Carey Mulligan, Fantasia Barrino, Bradley Cooper, and other big names expected to attend.

Fan account @ClubChalamet also made note that the actor had returned to Los Angeles this week ahead of the Golden Globes, sharing photos of Chalamet spotted out on the street.

Even if Chalamet doesn't take home a Golden Globe this evening, his fans are grateful to be able to see him grace a red carpet once more! Keep up with us here at Hidden Remote for our continued coverage of the Globes and this awards season.
