When Evil season 4's synopsis was released, it previewed David's arc for the final season which centers on remote viewing. For those that don't know, that's extrasensory perception (ESP). In David's case, as shown in episode 2 "How to Train a Werewolf," he's believed to have second sight. It's a form of ESP that's thought to give someone the ability to perceive information about objects or remote locations.

Grace Ling, the clairvoyant woman under the protection of the Vatican and David's friend, recommended him to be tested. Victor LeConte wouldn't tell him what was going on when he arrived at the location he was directed to come, so he had to put up with receiving seemingly needless and uncomfortably personal information from a random man before being directed to draw without moving his wrist while staring at an Ace of diamonds and in a circle of other men drawing.

This test, however, looked to prove what the Entity has become to suspect of David: He has latent paranormal abilities that could aid them in the fight for good. We knew this in some capacity because of David's visions, his most recent being of an angel that foretold the fall of "Babylon" in 38 days--the same time frame in which Kristen's baby with Leland, believed to be the Antichrist, is set to be born.

David, with startling accuracy, was able to depict the view that the man he'd spoken to had seen. This was done by the men focusing on an Ace of diamonds, though they were in differing locations and David was unaware what was happening when he was drawing. The discovery that remote viewing is a talent of his does, however, mean that he won't be working with LeConte anymore.

LeConte doesn't believe in remote viewing but he was astounded by what David accomplished. Due to his lack of belief, Father Dominic has stepped in to help guide David through this new venture with the church. It's unknown, for now, how that might impact his work with Ben and Kristen. The latter had already called him on his shady behavior and secretiveness when it comes to his dealings with the church that she and Ben are not a part of.

It's also possible that it could cause tension because David may start to perceive things that put himself or his friends in danger as he's pushed to further the battle between good and evil and tip the balance in the favor of good. With Lynn, Kristen's daughter, beginning to crossover into the church plot due to her interest in becoming a nun--and the continued to concern about Lexis because of the demonic fertility clinic Kristen and Andy unwittingly used to conceive her--perhaps this storyline and Kristen's will come crashing together.

We're bound to learn more in Evil season 4 episode 3 which premieres Thursday, June 6 at 12 a.m. PT/3 a.m. ET on Paramount+. Stay tuned to Hidden Remote.
