It looks like fate has gotten in the way of Finn's intentions on The Bold and the Beautiful. He'd assured Steffy that despite his own feelings on the matter, he wouldn't be attending Sheila and Deacon's wedding. But, inadvertently, he's wound up doing just that on Thursday, May 23's episode thanks to Steffy ordering pizza from Il Giardino, the very venue where the wedding is being held.

To be fair, Sheila had told Finn that her nuptials might take place at the beach. But, honestly, for folks who can't stand her, the Forresters can't seem to stop frequenting or ordering from Deacon's restaurant. They must love the cuisine! But because of this inability to get food from literally any other eatery in town, Finn found himself walking in on the wedding.

He was a welcome interruption for Sheila who'd assumed that her son had changed his mind and come to support her on her big day after all. In her excitement, Sheila practically chucked her bouquet at Hope who was just as shocked to see him standing there. In her happiness, Sheila seemed to overlook the fact that Finn was dressed casually and not at all like he was going to be serving as Deacon's best man like he'd been asked and politely declined.

Deacon, however, might have picked up on it because as Sheila gushed, he grimaced, taking in Finn's clear surprise over what he'd walked in on. The big question is whether or not Finn is going to let Sheila believe that he did decide to come. He'd wished her well when he rejected his invitation and it would certainly dampen this happy occasion if he were to admit to only being there to collect the pizzas Steffy ordered for Kelly and Beth's playdate.

Or he could tell her the truth and stick around anyway. Sure, that wouldn't go over well with Steffy, particularly as she's sitting back at the Cliff House with Liam, waiting on him to come home. But it doesn't seem like Finn's in the emotional place to walk away from his birth mother on her wedding day now that he's there. Especially not when Deacon and Hope would likely be trying to persuade him to stay since it seems fate has decided he should be there.

Friday, May 24's episode will give us an answer but either way this is going to have an impact on the families. Steffy seemed like she was trying to convince herself more than Liam that the ultimatum she put before Finn will hold. And I don't think anyone who isn't in denial could say without a shadow of a doubt that it will. I mean, at the top of the episode, Finn was brooding, coffee cup in hand, because he wasn't going to the wedding and he clearly wanted to.

He is putting his wife and his kids first but something is definitely going to give. You can feel it in the air and coming through the screen. Anytime a situation has Brooke defending Steffy to Hope, you know the writers have sent us topsy turvy and things are about to shake up on the soap!
