There are a lot of questions hanging over Fire Country season 3, but one of the biggest is the fate of Manny. Could the one-time captain be headed to jail?

Season 2 of Fire Country began with Manny (Kevin Alejandro) no longer captain of Three Rock due to the various season 1 problems like Bode being sent to jail. While he was working for the department, Manny was unhappy about having to report to new captain Eve.

Manny fought hard to help Three Rock when there was pressure to shut it down by townspeople who didn’t like a camp of convicts living so nearby. They tried to win over the governor with a big party where they pushed for her to keep Three Rock open.

So imagine Manny’s reaction when the governor dropped the bomb that division chief Luke Leone (Michael Trucco) had been leading the charge to shut down Three Rock and lying to everyone about trying to help. It built to an argument with Luke bad-mouthing Manny’s daughter Gabriela and Eve, so Manny punched him, which accidentally started a small fire.

Manny expected a suspension and some bad blood with Luke. What he didn’t expect was for Luke to press charges for assault. That had Manny going on the run into the woods, adding to his woes.

The Season 2 finale had Manny showing up to walk Gabriela down the aisle with the cops waiting until he was done to arrest him. Thus Manny, already a former convict, might be facing jail time once more. So what fate can we expect in Season 3?

What might happen to Manny in Fire Country Season 3?

Speaking to TV Line, showrunner Tia Napolitano shared that Season 3 won’t reveal what happened to Manny right away but will take its time.

"We won’t know right away. We’re really going to walk this legal process of, ‘How does this go? What are the charges, what are the potential options…?’ The law has been alerted, so he’s going to have to deal with that, and we’re going to live that with Manny."

Clearly, Manny will have some witnesses backing him, like Eve, Vince, and Sharon, who are just as ticked at Luke as he is. Bode might be absent as Season 2 ended with him taking up an offer from Luke for a firefighting job. However, with Luke intent on punishing Manny, there’s a lot of political issues to handle.

Maybe Manny can cut some sort of plea bargain to avoid serious jail time but it leaves his career as a firefighter in jeopardy. A bitter irony would be if Manny goes to jail but ends up landing a job back at Three Rock, only now with the very convicts he was formerly leading.

Either way, Season 3 will explore Manny facing the consequences of his hot-headed actions and promise another year of amazing drama for the hit series.
