At the end of Ghosts Season 2, we were left with one big question. Would one of the “Main Eight” be “sucked off.” The answer came in the Season 3 premiere.

Caution: This post contains spoilers for the Ghosts Season 3 premiere.

Sadly, we found out that it was one of the “Main Eight,” as Jay calls them. Of course, it felt a little off. We’re used to seeing deaths happen on screen to believe them, and a ghost being “sucked off” is like a death for Ghosts.

So, when we learned that it was Flower who had been “sucked off,” there were questions about whether this was permanent. Did anyone else feel like she was going to pop up during the episode wandering around the grounds asking everyone what was going on?

Flower is gone in Ghosts Season 3

When it came to the Season 2 moment, EP Joe Wiseman admits to TVLine that none of them really knew which of the ghosts would be gone. All they knew is that this couldn’t be some inconsequential ghost. That ruled out most of the Cholera ghosts in the basement.

Flower certainly has some huge ramifications for the rest of the house. She and Thor had just got together and she was able to work on a relationship with just him instead of adding a third. She was one of the most kindhearted ghosts, even if she did completely forget conversations because she was constantly high. We found out she was even a kind soul to the Cholera ghosts.

So, why Flower and is this it for good? Well, Flower is not coming back. This decision is permanent.

Sheila Carrasco just recently had her baby just before production started in November 2023. While it can seem like a highly questionable move to take a new mom out of the show—almost like a consequence for having a baby—there were other reasons that it was Flower. She does seem to have most of the ramifications for the Main Eight.

We just have to consider all the other ghosts. While they are big players, they only really have ramifications for specific ghosts. Flower had a deep connection with everyone, even if she didn’t always remember.

It’s going to be sad moving forward, but in the end, all the ghosts want is to move on. They all want to be “sucked off,” and it’s going to be interesting to see how various characters deal with this loss throughout the season.

This doesn’t mean it’s the last we’ve seen of Flower, though. The show has already set a precedent of bringing ghosts back from the other side, such as on Halloween. Maybe there is a chance for Flower to come back and share what it’s like.
