At the end of the Ghosts season 2 finale, Sam, Jay, and the Woodstone Ghosts witnessed one of the spirits being transcended into the Afterlife. While it's a good omen to crossover as you've settled whatever conflict and duress you had in the living world, the event still holds a powerful emotional punch, as we grow connected to that individual.

Season 3 of the hit CBS sitcom premiered on February 15th, following a monthly hiatus. In the premiere, titled "The Owl," we learned that Flower joined the Heavens, leaving Thorfinn heartbroken and struggling to find closure as a relationship bloomed between them. Per Thorfinn's Viking and Norse mythology, he believed that Flower's soul reincarnated into a Snowy Owl, leaving some hilarious ramifications with guests, the Ghosts, and specifically, for Jay.

“A Date to Remember” – Sam and Jay help Thorfinn create a perfect first date with Flower. Also, Hetty feels slighted by the ghosts’ new housemate, Nigel, on the CBS Original series GHOSTS, Thursday, Feb. 16 (8:31-9:01 PM, ET/PT) on CBS Television Network, and available to stream live and on demand on Paramount+. After finding closure with his loss and having a memorial, Thor released "Flower," never forgetting the special time they shared and their mutual bond over owls. Though there's no confirmed reason why Flower was the Chosen One, fans theorized that she moved on as she allowed herself to love again after losing her boyfriend at a young age. Finding that peace with Thor allowed her grief to heal finally and opened her heart to new possibilities.

Per TVLine, there's a possibility that Flower will return to Woodstone as if she never transcended, but we'll have to keep checking in to find out if that's the case! "The Owl" proved to be a ratings smash in the series overall, reaching a 7.05 million in the viewer's demo.

Ghosts season 3 episode count

Season 3 of the spooky sitcom will only have ten episodes, less than its previous seasons, which had twenty-two and eighteen. Danielle Pinnock, who portrays the sassy Prohibition-Era singer, Alberta, confirmed the episode count in an interview with TVInsider. According to the actress, the short episode count is due to the WGA and SAG-AFTRA strikes last year and Sheila Carrasco's first pregnancy. However, despite having a shorter season, the episodes will have quality and spirited storylines.

""Those episodes are fierce, and the audiences should prepare themselves," Pinnock revealed to the outlet and teased about what season 3 would entail. "This season, Alberta is going to be in her shenanigans, and you will also see more of me and Hetty.""
