Hope makes a big mistake with Finn on Bold and the Beautiful (Aug. 14, 2024)

The kiss Hope Logan laid on Dr. John Finnegan may not have been heard around the world but I'm certain that didn't stop many of us from going, "Oh!" and then wincing when it happened. We knew The Bold and the Beautiful was setting Hope up to take a fall, the proof was in the first look images for The Young and the Restless crossover that brought Danny Romalotti and Christine Blair to the Forrester Mansion. But watching it in real time was something!

The moment happened while Danny was singing his update version of "Rock On." The family was grooving and having a good time. Sinn were swaying together and enjoying themselves. It didn't seem like the record was about to be scratched and then Steffy had to go take a phone call. This gave Hope the perfect opening to swoop in.

She'd been eyeing Finn all evening, with him none the wiser. Brooke, however, clocked it and was concerned but had yet to say anything to her daughter. Perhaps if she had Hope might have reined it in but instead we got to see the brand ambassador make sure Steffy was out of eyesight before she dragged Finn over to the stairs and kissed him.

He was quite caught off guard. So much so that it took him more than a second to respond but once he realized what was going on, he pushed her back and gave her the most surprised and upset look. It was enough to make Hope question what it was she just did. Finn knew about her feelings for him, she'd expressed her attraction but he'd been very clear on where he stood and that's with his wife.

The episode ended before we could see what happens next, but I'm hoping we don't skip ahead to the next day. I'm on tenterhooks waiting to find out if Steffy's going to walk in on the aftermath of that terrible choice by Hope and cause a scene. If she does that might explain why Brooke, Ridge, and Taylor are looking so grim in an upcoming episode:

But whatever happens, we can be sure that Hope just blew up her friendship with Finn. Her saving's grace might be that she was clearly tipsy. Hope had been drinking champagne on back throughout the party. While that certainly doesn't excuse her considering she made a point of checking to see if Steffy fully left the room, it might be enough for Finn to look past what happened even though Steffy certainly won't if she does catch the aftermath of the moment.

Neither will Brooke, Ridge, or Taylor if they know about it. Brooke has allowed Hope to feel how she does without judging her, but she's been adamant that her daughter not interfere with Sinn's marriage or try to homewreck. All of her advice went right out the window and this isn't something that Brooke's going to be on her side about. As for Steffy's parents, without a doubt it would cause tension between Brooke and Ridge even if the former acknowledges what Hope did was wrong. And Taylor won't be sympathetic at all though she may appreciate it if all three of them are on the same page on what happened.
