Hope's crush gives Sheila an ace in the hole on Bold and the Beautiful

Hope Logan may think her crush on Dr. John "Finn" Finnegan is harmless but it's actually the very thing Steffy Forrester's nemesis, Sheila Carter, can use to her advantage on The Bold and the Beautiful.

In an out of character moment for Brooke Logan, Deacon Sharpe became her confident as she went to Il Giardino to share with him that their daughter has begun to have feelings for an inappropriate man. Considering Deacon is Sheila's husband and the man Brooke is referring to is Finn, Sheila's son, Deacon was the absolutely last person she should've been talking to about this sensitive issue.

Brooke swore Deacon to silence but I wouldn't have put it past him to say something to Sheila if she hadn't overheard. However, with the way things played out on-screen, he likely will stay mum so his wife can either reveal that she knows or work in the shadows to use this little nugget of information to her benefit without him knowing. See, Sheila is currently (and likely always be) on the outs with Steffy. Her daughter-in-law wants nothing to do with her and made Finn choose between them both. Sheila, of course, lost.

Finn went to Il Giardino in Monday, June 17's episode to make that clear. Steffy felt that going in-person to deliver the message that Sheila won't be in their lives gave his mother mixed signals. But Finn's takeaway from the exchange was that he'd gotten through to Sheila. We know, and honestly he should too, that it's never that simple with the infamous woman.

Learning that Hope likes her son means Sheila now has an unexpected ally. Sure, she knew that Hope had softened toward her relationship with Deacon but she has no idea how far that softening has gone. Hope was just sitting on her couch telling Brooke that it should be Finn's choice on whether he should see his birth mother and that as long as the kids are safe she sees no reason why Sheila can't be a part of his life. My how her tune has changed!

Sheila loves to meddle, Deacon does too for that matter, and if she can get a partner for Finn that won't stand in the way of them having the mother-son dynamic she wants, I don't see her not capitalizing on that possibility. Now, obviously, there would be a wrinkle in that plan, if it comes to be. Finn is deeply in love with Steffy and isn't interested in Hope outside of friendship.

He's already assured Steffy that Hope won't get between them. The good doctor has also insisted on more than one occasion, to more than one person, that Steffy and their family will always be his priority. Hope doesn't seem like she'd be able to disrupt that, however, the power of a misunderstanding has wrecked countless relationships on The Bold and the Beautiful.

We could be in for a storyline with Finn that doesn't have him break his wedding vows to Steffy but still derails their marriage to the point of a break-up. They've been stressed for years over Sheila and it's now begun to stretch to Hope as well. There's only so much one relationship can take and it's possible Sinn could be at their breaking point. That's definitely something Sheila could exploit to get exactly what she wants in the long run.
