Jane Krakowski guest stars in Elsbeth episode 2, what character does she play?
Elsbeth is finally back with a new episode this week and with a big-time guest star in Jane Krakowski! Who is she playing in the series? Find out here!
The seriesgot a big early premiere on CBS on February 29th. It made total sense to make Leap Day the day to showcase the popular character from The Good Wife and The Good Fight, an incredibly eccentric but brilliant attorney.
The pilot had Elsbeth (Carrie Preston) moving to New York City where she's been assigned by the Department of Justice to keep an eye on possible police corruption. Before long, Elsbeth was getting involved in a murder case where her quirky mind helped her spot the clues to unravel the mystery.
Elsbeth has the concept of the "howcatchem," where the audience sees from the start who the killer is. It then focuses on how Elsbeth unravels the case. Like other shows of its type, each episode features some nice guest stars, and this week's episode includes Jake Krakowski.
The actress broke out first on Broadway, winning a Tony Award for the musical Nine. She got her big TV break playing Elaine on Ally McBeal and later the self-absorbed Jenna on 30 Rock, which earned her four Emmy nominations. She's also starred in The Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt and Schigmadoon!

The episode, "A Classic New York Character," has Krakowski playing Joann, a high-powered Manhattan real estate broker. She's just bumped off the much hated landlady of a building (played by Linda Lavin) although the exact reasons may be part of the mystery. It could be some old beef or just her wanting to open up the space to sell it.
One of the preview clips shows Joann arriving at the crime scene, supposedly surprised at what's happened. She and Elsbeth have some nice banter, and it's clear Elsbeth already has suspicions about the woman.
Krakowski is always a delight on television and excels playing, let us say, less-than-pleasant characters. Seeing her and Preston clash on screen should be wonderful, and there's the mystery of why she committed this crime. The true fun will be how Elsbeth pieces the truth together to trap her. Some pics even show them seemingly working together with Joann likely trying to frame someone else, unaware Elsbeth is already onto her.
With Krakowski supplying a fun guest turn, Elsbeth is ready to get its regular run of episodes and is going to continue this fun new mystery series.
Elsbeth airs Thursdays at 9/8c on CBS and streaming on Paramount+.
