From pandemic delays to massive entertainment strikes, the 2020s have been an unusual time for television and film. Thankfully, things seem to be getting back to normal as we head into 2024, with plenty of new series to enjoy.

The year is starting strong with 86 new series to look forward to! In the coming month, there will be a lot of reality TV, documentaries, and anime coming out. Not a fan? No worries, there's something for everyone! You can also expect more traditional sitcoms and dramas in the mix. Below, we list them all, broken down by where (and when) they will be released so you don't miss out.

New shows and miniseries on network TV

Educational reality TV is the name of the game for the majority of new network broadcasts in January 2024. From competition series like The Floor to documentary exposes like The Prison Confessions of Gypsy Rose Blanchard, viewers will have the opportunity to learn more about the world around them.

In addition, Ryan Murphy is bringing back his 2017 docudrama Feud with an all-new season following Truman Capote and the women in his life. For those who want more fiction in their viewing, Monsieur Spade is expected to be a compelling sequel to The Maltese Falcon, while Extended Family is one of the only new sitcoms on the way.

New TV shows and miniseries on streaming services

Similar to network TV, there are several new reality television series coming out on streaming, though many have more to do with entertainment than education. For example, Netflix is releasing The Trust: A Game of Greed, a new series that toys with psychology to see if free money is enough, or if participants will backstab each other for a bigger piece of the pie.

However, there is a significantly higher number of new fictional series available as well. Anime fans will have their pick with 18 new shows on Crunchyroll and a handful of fresh series on Netflix and Hulu. Disney+ is hoping to beat superhero fatigue with their new series Echo, a spin-off from 2021's Hawkeye series. Finally, we have Peacock hoping to trade in on IP familiarity with Ted, the prequel series to the 2012 and 2015 movies. What will you be watching from the below?

Hopefully, the trend continues throughout 2024 as the entertainment industry comes back from the hardships of the last few years.
