The Jurassic franchise is the well that keeps on giving for Universal. The films have become a generational investment since they got their start in 1993. Now there's going to be another movie. Set for a premiere on July 2, 2025, we'll be along for another ride in the Jurassic World side of the franchise. Those movies, which got their start in 2015 with the titular film, took us on an adventure with Owen Grady (Chris Pratt) and Claire Dearing (Bryce Dallas Howard) after an island-based amusement park's safety protocols predictably failed once a lab grown dinosaur--the Indominus Rex--broke free.

What made the Jurassic World movies stand out was the inclusion of the raptors that Owen trained that became a beloved part of the franchise, particularly the leader Blue. As well as the way the film franchise was no longer bound to the action taking place primarily on an island since the second and third installments opened the world up, so to speak. Not to mention the inclusion of Maisie Lockwood (Isabella Sermon), whose presence in the films marks how far science has advanced in this universe as she's a clone of Benjamin Lockwood's daughter, Charlotte.

This fourth outing doesn't have a title yet but Variety reports there will be a "fresh storyline," typically, this goes hand-in-hand with a new cast as well. There's been no announcements on who is primed to star in Jurassic World 4 but, according to Deadline, Pratt and Howard aren't expected to reprise their roles and neither are the Jurassic Park stars Laura Dern, Sam Neill, and Jeff Goldbum.

David Koepp has been tapped to write the script for the film. He's the original screenwriter for Jurassic Park, which is recognized as the best movie in the entire Jurassic franchise, and the second film, The Lost World. It'll be interesting to see what he does in his return to this universe after over 25 years away from it.

A filming start date hasn't been shared yet, however, Deadline expects that production will begin in summer 2024 in order to meet Jurassic World 4's theatrical release date. The outlet also reports that filming will take place in the UK at Sky Studios Elstree.
