Although the slate might look light, we have a couple of big releases this week. Like we do every week, we’re sharing all the best Netflix movies and shows debuting beginning the week of Jan. 8, 2024.

We've got quite a themed week with Netflix as they are making us laugh, going on a ride with master thieves, finding love, and battling out for a cash prize. With projects from comedians Kevin Hart and Pete Davidson blended with some reality TV, we are eating good this week thanks to the streaming giant.

Pete Davidson: Turbo Fonzarelli: Pete Davidson returns for his second comedy special for Netflix where he tackles his childhood crush on Leonardo DiCaprio, a gift he got from his stalker and turning 30. (Stream the comedy special on Jan. 9)

The Trust: A Game of Greed: "Eleven strangers receive a quarter of a million dollars to allocate among themselves; they can either take their fair share or vote each other out to keep more for themselves." (Stream The Trust on Jan. 10)

Love is Blind: Sweden: The popular dating show where singles are looking for true love and propose to others before meeting them returns to Sweden for a second season. The series is hosted by Jessica Alemenas. (Stream the dating show on Jan. 12)

Lift: "A master thief is wooed by his ex-girlfriend and the FBI to pull off an impossible heist with his international crew on a 777 passenger flight from London to Zurich." (Stream Lift on Jan. 12)

As for our biggest recommendations for the week...

A professional thief named Cyrus must bring together his crew to deliver the ultimate heist in Netflix's action/comedy Lift. It is a star-studded ensemble titled Lift, led by Kevin Hart, who plays Cyrus, who is working with the FBI to steal 500 million dollars of gold from a plane that is 40,000 feet in the air. Joining Hart is Gugu Mbatha-Raw, Vincent D'Onofrio, Ursula Corbero and Jacob Batalon. The premise sounds fantastic, and factoring in Hart's comedy, we are in for one hell of a ride.

Eleven strangers are given a quarter of a million dollars to keep for themselves with the twist that they can either take a fair share of the money or begin voting for other cast members, opening the door for them to take home more money. That is the premise for the new reality series The Trust: A Game of Greed. Brooke Baldwin hosts the series that will air the first four episodes on Jan. 10, with episodes 5-7 coming Jan. 17 and the "winners" crowned on Jan. 24.
