Did Lucas Adams go to Chicago in the Grey's Anatomy season 20 finale?

One of the questions we had going into the Grey’s Anatomy season 20 finale was whether Lucas Adams would choose to take the job offered in Chicago. We know one intern will leave in season 21, but what about Adams as well?

The finale opened with various people talking about the job offer Adams got. Of course, Simone didn’t want him to leave, and she wanted to talk him out of it. She also wanted Bailey to talk him out of it, but Bailey wouldn’t do that. She knew that Adams had to do the best thing for him.

The episode focused mostly on a few other major storylines. We had Bailey worry about the fate of Ben in the wildfire, and there was a lot of focus on Theo in the OR. There was also focus put on whether Catherine would fire Teddy, Meredith, and Amelia and take their research. So, the discussion of Lucas Adams didn’t really come up.

Did Adams choose to go to Chicago in Grey’s Anatomy?

The test scores came back. The four interns except Lucas were together when they got their scores, all of them finding out they aced the test. However, Simone needed their help to deal with the Adams situation.

We did find out from Bailey that Adams got the best score of his class. That happiness was short lived with Adams needing to change for his meeting with Catherine—who had ended up firing Owen as well as Teddy after Meredith and Amelia published their research and resigned.

Simon and other interns walked into the room during Adams’s meeting with Catherine. They all stood by his side to encourage Catherine to disregard the recommendation to make him repeat his first year again. The best moment was Bailey walking into the room. As all the interns made an empty threat to resign, Bailey walked in and said “can you replace me?”

And with that, we didn’t really get any answers. It looks like everyone could leave and Catherine could be left with a hospital without doctors as Grey’s Anatomy season 21 premieres.
