Luna's shocked to learn RJ thinks Bill could be her father (Bold and the Beautiful recap Jan. 25, 2024)

I don't know if it was a surprise to y'all, but it was a surprise to me that Luna didn't once consider that Bill might be her father. Sure, RJ planting the seed was a possibility but the idea that she didn't once think of it gave me pause. Her boyfriend had to connect the dots and get her to see that perhaps Poppy and Bill's special night was more intimate than Luna might have thought. But, now that that idea is out there on The Bold and the Beautiful, I hope it means that we can finally make headway on this plot.

I say this because I don't know how many more conversations we can have with Li calling Poppy a gold digger, and Bill waxing on about Poppy and Luna, that we can have before this grows stale. I do wonder what Poppy thinks she's doing if Bill actually is Luna's dad. Is she feeling things out to see whether she wants to say something to him about it? Or does she have an agenda?

Li hasn't been shy about what she expects. She told Poppy once again that she's not to sleep her way into Steffy and Finn's family, threw around plenty of commentary about Poppy being loose, and explained that growing up she just wanted the best for her sister, but Poppy didn't take life seriously and still doesn't.

Poppy asserted she's in charge of her body as well as who she chooses to be intimate with, and that there's nothing wrong with wanting connection, passion, and intimacy with someone whether it's for one night or longer. She also cracked a joke about perhaps being too young to be a grandmother, implying that if she and Bill go for the long haul she'll be Kelly's stepgrandmother, so she might go by Nana or Lola. Li told her to worry about that when Luna brings a child into the world.

The sisters weren't the only two getting ahead of themselves. So was Liam. He made his own playful comment about Poppy becoming his stepmom and Bill pumped the breaks quickly. Bill is very much interested in seeing where things go with Poppy but he's living in the moment they have right now and seeing where it goes.

I do wonder where his head is at with all this since he keeps singing the praises of Luna who he's really only met once. And, after Liam left (presumably with the box of Wyatt's things he was collecting), Bill was on Poppy's social media page and lingered on an image of Luna which prompted him to call Poppy.

She was at a cafe and was happy to hear from him. While he'd laughed at Li's comment about her being a gold digger, he did hope that she wouldn't let her sister keep her from exploring what they're developing together. Poppy has no intention on doing that but her face after hanging up left me questioning this whole situation because it looked both contemplative and calculating. I want to know what she's up to, if anything, so bad!

What feels certain is that now that Luna's mind has been turned to the idea that Bill could be her dad, she's not going to be able to let it go. Even Liam asked after who Luna's father is, to which Bill said he wasn't around and it seemed that things were hard for them both. Liam's reaction did leave me thinking that he might draw the same conclusion that RJ did at some point since Bill has a history with adult children popping up and being his. I hope so because Liam needs something to do on the soap.
