Comedy series Modern Family is still one of the best sitcoms out there! It's such a comfort show and one that I personally always like to rewatch. The series went on for 11 seasons, and we still miss it. A lot happened during those years, do you remember it all? Take our Modern Family quiz to find out!
The series focused on three modern families: the Dunphys, the Pritchetts, and the Tucker-Pritchett fam. The Dunphy clan represented the "traditional family," the Pritchett gang portrayed an older man marrying a younger woman and the stepfamily dynamic, and Cam and Mitchell were the same-sex couple.
This was a truly great ensemble cast that made us laugh in every episode! That was thanks to the talented actors: Ed O'Neill as Jay; Sofía Vergara as Gloria; Rico Rodriguez as Manny; Jeremy Maguire as Joe; Julie Bowen as Claire; Ty Burrell as Phil; Sarah Hyland as Haley; Ariel Winter as Alex; Nolan Gould as Luke; Jesse Tyler Ferguson as Mitchell; Eric Stonestreet as Cameron; and Aubrey Anderson-Emmons as Lily.
It was amazing to see the younger actors literally grow up onscreen in front of us! I think the success of Modern Family comes from how relatable it is. Yes, the characters sometimes got into overly dramatic or comedic situations for the sake of the story. But the themes and lessons explored throughout the comedy can be applied to our personal daily lives.
Modern Family definitely touched our hearts, and at the end of the day the focus of the show is the importance of family. Whether everyone lives close by like the majority of the series, or some members move away as we saw at the end, family is key. And no matter how far you go, your family will always be there for you. And I think that's such an important message that many of us could relate to!
All 11 seasons of Modern Family are currently streaming on Hulu and Peacock.
