The Bachelorette season 21 episode 3 was just as dramatic as we all anticipated. Sure, the heat was turned up to 11 during a group date that had the suitors stripping before an audience. And the second group date took place on a racetrack where the men on the date sped right into Jenn's heart. But Bachelor Nation was waiting to see the drama that was teased after last week's episode.

The sneak peek for the episode 3 implied that the moment was centered on an incident with Devin that could lead to his departure. But it was spliced so it was definitely meant to mislead the audience. In actuality, the firm talking to that she gave her suitors was prompted by a conversation she had with Aaron Erb. His time on the season was coming to a close as he'd received a phone call letting him know that the dates for his flight training had been set.

As such we were treated to a somewhat half-done dithering over whether or not he should exit the show. Aaron's video packages after the phone call primarily focused on the decision he had to make. Would he give up his dream and continue to pursue Jenn or would he decide to do what was best for him and go to flight training?

It was pretty obvious what he was going to choose. Aaron and Jenn didn't have a strong connection, and she once again didn't give him a rose after a group date. So, he chose to speak to her ahead of the rose ceremony to let her know he'd be leaving. She understood his decision and it could have been left at that but Aaron took a moment to stir the pot.

He shared the classic line, "Some people aren't here for the right reasons," but he wouldn't elaborate on what he meant by that beyond saying that there were men among her suitors that weren't ready for marriage and those who weren't there only for her. Of course, this irritated Jenn because Aaron told her he was going to let her sort out who those people are on her own.

She aptly described Aaron's poor choice here as cruel but, bearing in mind what he said, Jenn made her position clear. If there's any man on the show uninterested in being engaged at the end of the season or is trying to use the show as some kind of launch pad for themselves, they could leave. This immediately bred even more infighting among the men with Devin and Sam M. once again clashing, this time because Sam was defending Aaron and telling his fellow suitors not to judge him.

The chaos that Aaron unleashed is going to bleed into next week's episode as the men try to assure Jenn that they're there for her. Sam N. will also be dealing with backlash over telling Jenn that he's falling for her and then apologizing for how that may have come off. Sam M. and Thomas didn't respect that choice and were snickering and gossiping about it in episode 3. Next week Thomas' private thoughts look to be made public which doesn't go over well.
