Only Murders in the Building season 1 airs through January on ABC (Full release schedule)

ABC is taking a page out of CBS' book, deciding to air Hulu streaming series Only Murders in the Building on the network! Back in fall 2023 with hardly any new shows out during the writers and actors strikes, The Paramount Network decided to air Yellowstone on CBS, going back to the very first season. It was a great success and the Western has now gained an even bigger audience. Season 3 will start airing on Jan. 14, 2024. So now, ABC is borrowing Hulu's Only Murders in the Building to try and do the same!

The show, starring Steve Martin as Charles-Haden Savage, Martin Short as Oliver Putnam, and Selena Gomez as Mabel Mora, has three completed seasons streaming on Hulu, and the comedy-mystery has been renewed for a fourth season. For those of you who don't have Hulu but do have access to ABC, then you're probably excited that the show's first season will be airing soon!

Only Murders in the Building season 1 release date, time, and how to watch

So when is that set to happen? That would be tonight! Only Murders in the Building season 1 airs the first three episodes tonight, Jan. 2, 2024, starting at 9 p.m. ET on ABC. The first season has a total of 10 episodes, and three will be released each week on Tuesday nights. The finale makes its debut on Tuesday, Jan. 23, 2024. We shared a breakdown of the episode release schedule through January below:

• Central - 8 p.m. to 10 p.m. CT, finale 8 p.m. to 9 p.m.

• Pacific - 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. PT, finale 6 p.m. to 7 p.m.

There's a few ways to tune in to ABC. The first and easiest way is of course if you're subscribed to a cable provider. Some other ways to do so are also through FuboTV starting at $74.99/month, Sling TV starting at $40/month, DIRECTV starting at $69.99/month, YouTube TV for $72.99/month, and Hulu + Live TV.

As mentioned above, the first season as well as the following two are currently streaming on Hulu as Only Murders is originally a streaming series. ABC has not announced whether seasons 2 and 3 will also be airing on the network. That's going to depend on the success and viewership numbers. Though I honestly have no doubt that like Yellowstone, this series is going to be a hit on ABC!

What you need to know about the comedy-mystery series

As someone who has watched the show, I can definitely tell you that I recommend it! I never knew Martin, Short, and Gomez would have such great onscreen chemistry, but it's truly evident throughout the season. And they're all so funny together! I love the comedy mixed in with a murder mystery with three people who unite thanks to their avid interest in true crime, and decide to investigate a murder that happened in their apartment building. Check out the synopsis below:
