AMC and crime dramas go back a long way. The network exploded to prominence thanks to Breaking Bad as the saga of Walter White going from school teacher to drug lord was a captivating, critically acclaimed hit that garnered numerous Emmys and more awards during its run.

Since then, AMC has given us gripping stories like Better Call Saul, Dark Winds, Killing Eve and more. Now, Parish is being added to the list and is already on its way to joining the ranks of top AMC crime shows.

How to watch

Parish had its special extended premiere on Sunday March 31 on AMC. According to TVInsider, starting April 7, it settles into its regular time of Sundays at 9/8c on AMC and then streams on AMC+, Spectrum, and allblk (available through Apple TV).

When and where to watch reruns

  • WE TV - Thursdays at 11 p.m. ET/10 p.m. CT, starting April 4
  • Sundance - Sundays at 1 a.m. ET/12 a.m. CT, starting April 7

With the series just premiering, it's the perfect time to start catching up on Giancarlo Esposito's fantastic talents in a story with a fun take on a family man pulled back into the criminal life making Parish another worthy addition to AMC's fine crime show slate. Here's more on the series!

What is Parish about?

Parish follows the title character, Gracián "Gray" Parish (Giancarlo Esposito), a struggling New Orleans businessman trying to keep his luxury car service going. He, his wife Rose (Paula Malcomson) and daughter Makayla (Arica Himmel) are all mourning the death of Parish's son Maddox in a carjacking a year earlier.

Into Parish's life comes an old friend, Colin (Skeet Ulrich). It turns out Parish used to be a top getaway driver (which his family knows nothing about) and Colin went to jail for refusing to rat him out after a robbery gone bad. Thinking Parish owes him, Colin talks him into the classic "one last job," which Parish agrees to, needing the money.

Naturally, things quickly go sideways and before he knows it, Parish is going up against a ruthless gangster (Zackary Momoh) and trying to keep his family in the dark even as he realizes the hard way he can outrun the cops or the mob but not his own past.

Parish airs Sundays at 9/8c on AMC and streams on AMC+.
