Quantum Leap season 2 will return in January (Midseason premiere date news)
Quantum Leap will make its much-awaited comeback to NBC with a new day and time. After what felt like years, we will finally be reunited with Dr. Ben Song (Raymond Lee) and his team. Season 2B is bound to be filled with historical adventures and remapping of its original course. With only five episodes left, things are going to get tense.
The first half of season 2 concluded with Ben and Hannah Carson (Eliza Taylor) saying their goodbyes in Cairo. Their growing connection and romance drove the narrative, and it projected that Hannah had more of a purpose than randomly bumping into Ben. It was strongly hinted in "Closure Encounters" that Ben and Hannah had an underlying passion, confirmed when they met again in 1955 when the latter worked at Princeton University in "Secret History."
Even without Hannah being on Ben's side, he encountered some incredible solo journeys. One such experience is the 1692 Salemn MA witch trials as colonialist Elizabeth Bleaker. In the episode, Ben learns singlehandedly about the gruesome time period through the eyes of Elizabeth, a servant girl for a wealthy family. If not for Ian's (Mason Alexander Park) quick thinking of using a Farmer's Almanac and astrology instead of modern technology, as Ziggy didn't have Salem's data in her mainframe, Ben would've been burned at the stake for alleged witchcraft.
Meanwhile, the team at headquarters works nonstop to crush the reason behind Ben's leaps, inching towards a feasible solution in the mid-season finale, "Nomad." Of course, with Ziggy's recent glitches, there's room for the possibility of an error or two. Yet, I have a theory that due to Ian's ingenious ways with computers, they'll never allow an error to happen.
When will Quantum Leap return on NBC?
Per the details on Deadline, Quantum Leap will have a new day and time slot for its remaining five episodes. This means that we have to readjust our schedules accordingly to tune in.
The show will resume its season 2 latter half on Tuesday, Jan. 30, at 10 p.m. ET, shifting its original Wednesday night broadcast to 8 p.m. ET. Following the live airing, all episodes will be available to stream on Peacock the night day.
