What's to come in the new season
The third season of the ABC comedy series will see the return of all the main cast members, and will have a total of 14 episodes. Unfortunately it's a shortened season due to the Hollywood strikes delaying productions. But, I'm not going to complain! It's been 10 months since a new episode has been available to us, so we'll take what we can get.
The first two episodes, titled "Career Day Par 1" and "Career Day Part 2" air this evening starting at 9 p.m. ET and going on until 10 p.m ET. The premiere will start off with a new year at Abbott Elementary, with Janine "as eager as ever," per the synopsis. She uses that energy to plan a district-wide Career Day. Elsewhere, Ava "has a new approach to her job, and Melissa is asked a surprising question."
In episode 3 airing Feb. 14, "Gregorys Garden Goofballs" will see the teacher "hesitant" when some students start spending their lunch time in his classroom since he's looked at as the "cool teacher," per the synopsis. Janine's ex-boyfriend Tariq makes an appearance, shocking Barbara by dating the mother of one of her students. And finally, Janine and Jacob try to hire an ASL interpreter.
I don't know about you, but I'd love to finally see Janine and Gregory get together. Though I don't think that's going to be the case. Based on the trailer, the two claim that they're fine. Though we'll probably see some awkwardness between them for a while. Will they be able to move past their kiss? We'll find out soon!
